Abstract

1,020,970. Bearings. PRECITRONIC GESELLSCHAFT FUR FEINMECHANIK UND ELECTRONIC m.b.H. Nov. 26, 1964 [Sept. 23, 1964], No. 48039/64. Heading F2A. Gas is supplied to a gas bearing via a stone insert having a nozzle passage therethrough. The stone insert 5, Fig. 1 (not shown), is mounted in a passage 4 of a bearing 1 and the narrowest part of the nozzle passage 5a is adjacent the point of discharge into a clearance 3 which is provided between the bearing 1 and a shaft 2. In a modification, the stone insert 5 is mounted in an intermediate member 8, Fig. 2 (not shown), having a central aperture 8a therein. In another embodiment, a rectilinearmotion bearing is supplied with pressurized gas through a stone insert 10, Fig. 3 (not shown), which is mounted in an intermediate member 11. A nozzle passage 10a, 11a formed in the stone insert 10 and intermediate member 11, opens into a pressure-pad 12 which leads to the clearance 3.
