Abstract
1,019,829. Changing blowing lances. BETEILGUNGSUND PATENTVERWALTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT G.m.b.H. Nov. 27, 1964 [Nov. 29, 1963], No. 48364/64. Heading F4B. A device for changing blowing lances 1 is characterized by having a pivotable case 9 and a travelling crab 14 fitted with an engagement device 15 mounted on a crane runway 8. The lance 1 in its vertical mounted position is carried by travelling crab 7 running on crane runway 8 to the vertically mounted travelling case 9 into which it fits, pivotably secured to a friction roller drive 10 on the same runway 8. The friction roller drive 10 and the case 9 now containing lance 1 move further on till the case 9 abuts and rolls on roller 11 to reach the position shown in Fig. 2. Crane hook 13 of crab 14 is then secured to eye 12 of case 9, and the case 9 and lance 1 are pulled up to a horizontal position in which engagement member 15 fixed through eye 12, whence the lance 1 and case 9 are conveyed in a horizontal position along runway 8 by crab 14 and friction roller drive 10 to a suitable setting down point.
