Abstract

1,018,151. Agricultural tractors. VEB TRAKTORENWERK SCHONEBECK. Feb. 26, 1964, No. 7958/64. Headings B7D and B7H. In an agricultural tractor having a frame 5 comprising side members secured to the housing of a rear axle 2 and connected by a front transverse member, separable units including an engine 9, a clutch housing 8, an intermediate transmission housing 9 and a gear-box 10 are so supported from the frame as to share none of the frame loads. As shown, the engine 7 is supported on the frame 5 by flexible mountings and the gear-box 10 is rigidly secured to the rear axle. The clutch housing 8 may be separate from the engine and supported solely through the gear-box 10, the clutch being driven from the engine through a flexible coupling. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the engine 7 and gear-box 10 are mounted on the frame, and an articulated coupling connects the gear-box output to the rear axle. Rollers 15 may be attached to the units 8, 9, 10 to support the units on the frame 5 during disassembly. Flanges 14 for the attachment of side-mounted implements are provided on the frame side members, and a front power lift or tandem coupling may be provided on the transverse front member.
