Abstract

An aqueous grouting composition comprises 5-30% clay, 0.5-15% of an alkali metal silicate and 0.1-4% of an alkaline peptizing agent. Peptizing agents specified are tetrasodium pyrophosphate, tri-sodium phosphate and a caustic solution of quebracho. Clays specified are bentonite and sub-bentonites.
