Abstract
1,015,801. Control of A.C. motors; inverting. LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. Jan. 4, 1963 [Jan. 5, 1962], No. 506/63. Headings H2F and H2J. An A.C. motor M is supplied from a D.C. source through an inverter 3, 4, connected in series with commutating devices 1, 2, the motor flux being kept substantially constant by maintaining the supply voltage proportional to the supply frequency. The inverter 3, 4 is supplied with control signals which determine cyclically the starting point of current supply to the motor, the commutating devices determining the cyclic termination of the current. The commutation between the devices 1, 2 is effected by capacitor 6. The mean supply voltage is controlled by delaying the control signals supplied to triodes 3, 4 with regard to those fed to the devices 1, 2. Reactive current and dynamic current is returned to the D.C. source through choke 13 and diode 14, the return current being controlled by triode 15. The motor may have a wound rotor connected to a variable resistor, associated with electronic switches. The motor may be reversed by pulse control, and braked by reducing the frequency or reversing the field.
