Abstract

1,015,443. Tractor power lift mechanisms. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. April 23, 1964 [May 1, 1963], No. 17084/63. Heading A1P. For draft control in a tractor power lift mechanism an upper link 3 moves when in tension or compression against the action of a double-acting spring 23 to control a push rod 37 operating a lever 59 connected to a hydraulic fluid control valve 77. The upper end of lever 59 can be moved by a manual control 67 and the push rod 37 has a spring 53 biasing a fork-member 52 which engages a pin 57 on the lever 59. The spring 53 is strong enough to render the push-rod 37 and fork-member 52 rigid in normal operation but allows the forkmember to be moved along the push-rod when the hand lever 67 is moved to the transport position whereby, in this position, movements of the push-rod due to movements of the upper link 3 are not transmitted to the lever 59. A pin 113 on lever 59 engages in a recess of the operating rod 103 of the ram 83 so that as the transport position is reached the lever 59 is moved by the rod to return the valve 77 to the neutral position.
