Abstract

1,014,871. Copy-turning. EDWARD WIL. LIAMS HOLDINGS Ltd. July 26, 1962 [June 21, 1961], No. 22402/61. Heading B3T. A copy-turning attachment comprises a stylus control member 15 for mounting on a support 14 for the tool slide 13, and means 16 for connecting to the support for adjusting the member 15 relatively to the support. A shaft 12 carrying the stylus 10 on an arm 11 and a peg 21 on an arm 20, controls by its angular movements fluid-pressure or electrical means (not shown) for moving the slide 13 on a slide 14 towards and away from the work (not shown) as the stylus follows a pattern (not shown). The control member 15 may be advanced, through gearing and a pinion 16 engaging rackteeth on the member 15, by a handle, Fig. 1 (not shown), into engagement with the peg 21 to stop the feed. Further advance of the member 15 displaces the peg as it passes and reverses the direction of feed, which continues until the peg runs off the member and allows the pattern to resume control. Movement of the member 15 is indicated on a scale (Fig. 1).
