Abstract

<FORM:1014029/C6-C7/1> A metal vapour condensing device comprises a cylindrical sleeve split horizontally having a dam 20 (consisting of one or more plates) with a vapour passage opening in the top section of the sleeve at the hot end and a baffle (consisting of a flat circular plate or disc) at the cold end of the condenser, the plates being attached to the bottom half of the sleeve but not to the top half. The plates forming the dam 20 and the baffle 27 preferably diverge from the bottom to the top of the sleeve. The sleeve is preferably provided with a slot 29 to provide a heat conducting link of solid metal between the hot vapour in the sleeve and the condenser wall.
