Abstract
1,009,319. Transformers. S. NAKAZAWA, and T. NAKAZAWA. Feb. 27, 1964 [Aug. 19, 1963; Oct. 14, 1963], No. 8281/64. Heading H1T. A conservator 42 (Fig. 7) for oil immersed transformers comprises an oilproof, gas-tight, expansible cell 43 completely immersed in pressure balancing oil 47 and filled with insulation oil communicating with oil filling the interior of the transformer through an aperture 45. The cell 43 may be constructed from metal plates which are bonded together and some of these metal plates may be substituted by plates made of plastic or synthetic rubber or the cell may be in the form of a bladder made of vinyl resin (Fig. 9, not shown). The conservator is provided with an air passage 50 which communicates ambient air with an air space 48 above the pressure balancing oil 47 and the conservator may be provided with a drain cock 52 (Fig. 8, not shown) for tapping off impurities which may occur in the oil 47.
