[Also in Divisions B5, D1 and D2] Paper bags or paper sacks are treated with liquid ammonia or an alkylamine of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or more than one of these, the weight of any water present being not more than the weight of ammonia and amine. The treated article is contracted in its own plane and has a greater extensibility than the untreated article. The treatment may be repeated one or more times.
