Abstract
1,008,365. Character recognition. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Aug. 4, 1964 [July 26, 1963], No. 30884/64. Addition to 939,134. Heading G4R. In the electrical learning and translation circuit of the parent Specification the cross-points 11-44 of a matrix are joined by secondary cells A which are charged by a source Ub during the learning phase with the appropriate one of switches S3-S6 in its c position and discharge during the translating phase through the a position of switches S3-S6 connected to a maximum current detector E with outputs b1-b4. The secondary cells may have an internal reistance or be in series with resistors R which may be shunted by diodes conducting during the charging or learning phase.
