Abstract

1,008,149. Cooking vessels. H. RITTER. July 23, 1962 [July 21, 1961], No. 28177/62. Heading A4A. A ham boiler comprises an oblong vessel 10 and a cover 11 which is displaceable in the vessel, to rest on the ham, under the influence of a stack of leaf springs 18 provided between the cover and a crossmember 13 adjustably secured across the top of the vessel. The member 13 has a channelled centre part enclosing the elements of the spring and lugs 12 integral with the cover, pins 17 detachably engaging bores in the lugs and key-hole slots 15, 16 in the cover. Forked projections 19 from end walls 14, which close the channel of the cover, have open bearings 20 for pivot pins 21 integral with toothed stays 22 which are biased by the uppermost element 28 of the leaf spring to engage a lip 24 on the vessel. The stays 22 have straight cam faces 25, 26 providing two stable positions for the stays and over-stressing of the spring element 28 is prevented by a stop 27.
