A method of attaching tubes 4 to lamellµ 1 for condensor or evaporator assemblies for cooling plants comprises the steps of inserting the tubes 4 into recesses U-shaped slots 2 of the lamellµ and subjecting the tubes to an externally applied pressure to effect deformation thereof against the slot sides. The lamellµ may be initially blanked having a recess 6, the inwardly projecting edges of which are subsequently bent outwardly to form U-shaped webs 3. The tubes may be .additionally retained by bending over the top portions of the webs 3.
