Abstract
1,3,5 - trimethyl - 1,1,3,5,5 - pentaphenyl-trisiloxane is prepared by reacting methyldiphenylsilane in the presence of methanol, with sodium hydroxide in dilute toluene solution to give sodium methyldiphenyl silanolate, which, after the removal of water and methanol by azeotropic distillation, is then reacted with methyl-phenyl dichlorosilane. Specification 808,613 also is referred to.
