Abstract
1,007,524. Motor driving arrangements. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Sept. 21, 1961 [Sept. 30, 1960 (2)], No. 33847/61. Heading H2A. The armature shaft 13, Fig. 1, of an electric machine includes an integral pinion 4a for meshing with the gears of a driving system. The rotor shaft 13 and pinion 4a are formed of a synthetic material in a moulding ot extrusion process together with a radial winding 12, and are mounted on pins 5 extending from the ends of the shaft. Alternatively, the shaft may be hollow and be supported by a coaxial rod or may have end sockets engaging with pins in the end plates, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown). The stator comprises a permanent magnet 1. The ends of the rotor windings 11a are extended to form the commutator segments. The coupling to the drive shaft 15 may be through a gear-wheel 4b meshing with the pinion 4a or, as in Fig. 4, the shaft 15 may carry a radially extending arm 18 carrying two pinions 6a, 7a which mesh with the pinion 4a and also with an internal gear track provided either on the end plate 14 or on the outer casing. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 896,114.
