1,006,015. Indexing mechanism. NATIONAL BROACH & MACHINE CO. May 31, 1962, No. 48066/63. Divided out of 1,006,014. Heading B3B. In an indexing mechanism as described in Specification 1,006,014, the locating means comprises a lever arm 178 mounted at a pivot 180 and carries an index finger 182 having a curved locator surface 184 which has its centre of curvature at the pivot axis of the arm 178. The surface 184 has, therefore, line contact with the surface 174 of the recesses 172 and effects exact location irrespective of the width of the recesses since the finger merely moves into the recess to a greater depth without affecting the location of the plate. The finger 182 is removably mounted on the arm 178 and in order to provide contact with the surface 174 at different parts, fingers of different radial spacing between surfaces 184 and 186 are provided and are retained in place by set-screws 190. This in effect varies the length of the radius R.
