Abstract

1,005,513. Strippable suture packages. L. D. KURTZ. Nov. 8, 1963, No. 44108/63. Heading B8C. The weld between inner layers 6, 8 of opposed sheets 7, 14 of a suture package is so strong that, when the package is torn open, the tear runs through the material 8 and along the bond between the materials 8 and 14. The material 6, 8 may be polyethylene of different thicknesses, the layer 7 may be a polyester, and the layer 14 may be aluminium. The package may form the inner or outer container for a sterile surgical suture. The inner container may include a protective liquid, and the suture may be coiled within a sheath.
