Abstract

1,004,177. Curtain pelmets. MAYGATE Ltd. Oct. 21, 1963 [Dec. 12, 1962], No. 46925/62. Heading A4B. [Also in Division B5] A pelmet material comprises two outer layers of synthetic thermoplastic material such as P.V.C., and an interlayer of thermoplastic foam material such as polyurethane, the layers being joined by welding, e.g. by high frequency welding, along their longitudinal edges and along spaced transverse lines along the length of the material. One or more longitudinal strips, e.g. of P.V.C., are secured to the rear layer by welding along one or both edges at points co-incident with the other weld lines, said strips optionally being perforated. A decorative selvedge may be obtained on the front layer by welding along a line parallel to but spaced from each longitudinal edge, one of the latter optionally being scalloped. In use, the strips serve as means whereby the pelmet may be supported.
