Abstract
100,396. Philippart, F. R. M. April 30, 1915, [Convention date). Mechanical constructions, details for building up.- Elements for building up toy structures consist of rods of bamboo or equivalent wood, preferably square or rectangular in cross-section. The rods 1, Fig. 3, are connected by thin metal tubes 3 of similar crosssection, and by thin flexible metal keys 4. A number of keys may be pivoted together, and they may also be made in various shapes, so that joints, such as that shown in Fig. 30, may be formed by bending a suitable blank to the required shape. A wheel may be formed from a key consisting of a strip 5, Fig. 5, bent into a circle, the lugs 6 engaging tubular members on the rods which form the spokes. In making buildings, painted or printed panels may be attached to the bamboo rods by means of hooks or clips.
