Abstract

1,002,942. Adjustable seats. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. May 15, 1964 [May 23, 1963], No. 20560/63. Heading A4J. A seat hight adjustment mechanism comprises a pair of parallel vertical walls 1, a link 3 pivotally mounted at one end of each wall, an inclined slot 5 having a plurality of vertically extending recesses 7 of different depths in the opposite end of each wall and a seat mounting comprising two pairs of brackets 11, 13 to which a seat is attachable. The brackets 11 are pivotally connected to the links 3 and the brackets 13 are mounted on a rod 15 forming projections 17 located in the slots 5. The height of the seat is adjustable by moving the projections 17 out of one pair of recesses 7 in the slots 5 into another pair of recesses. A pivoted lock bar 21 is spring biased towards the rod 15. Notches 23 are formed in the bar 21 to engage the rod 15 and lock it in one of the recesses 7. The bar 21 may be moved clear of the rod 15 by a lever 28.
