Abstract

1,002,240. Agricultural implements. KABUSHIKI KAISHA HONDA GIJUTSU KENKYUJO. Dec. 20, 1963 [June 24, 1963], No. 50506/63. Heading A1B. To enable the ground to be tilled below the transmission casing of a rotary cultivator the blades 49 adjacent to each side of the casing are arranged to oscillate. Each blade 49 is mounted in a member rotatable in a housing 32A and provided with teeth 44 which co-operate with a rack 45 on a member 35 which is oscillated as the main shaft 32 rotates, a pin 37 on the member 35 projects from a slot 38 in the shaft 32 and co-operates with a cam track 40 in the gear casing. In a modification the blade is partially rotatably mounted in the main shaft and the end of the blade is curved so that when it is in the ground it moves sideways to cultivate the strip of ground below the casing. When the blade leaves the ground it is returned to its original position by means of a spring.
