Abstract

Heading B5A. ]Also in Division H1] An assembly of electrical components, e.g. resistors, capacitors, diodes and transistors, is potted by disposing the components in parallel layers spaced apart by transverse distance pieces in a mould 1, Fig. 1, the side walls of which have grooves 8 in which the terminal connections of the components are located and the end walls of which have grooves 3 in which the ends of the distance pieces are located. The final layer comprises an assembly of wires the ends 14, Fig. 4, of which are located in the grooves 8. The mould is then filled with an epoxy resin and after setting, the assembly is removed, the side faces being machined away to expose the terminal connections which are appropriately interconnected by applying printed circuits. If grooves 8 are not provided a pair of distance pieces having grooves 11, Fig. 3, are located in the mould cavity. The assembly may comprise a bi-stable multivibrator, Fig. 11.
