Abstract

A mobile machine for spraying insecticides or the like on trees comprises a fan 8 for creating an upwardly directed air current in a substantially vertical plane transverse to the direction of travel c of the machine and a . plurality of spraying nozzles 7 having their axes in a plane substantially parallel to the plane of the air current and spaced therefrom in the direction of travel c, whereby spray in a finely atomized state is caused to float into the upwardly directed air current only when the machine is travelling in the direction c. The spacing of the fan and nozzles is adjustable. A centrifugal fan may be used having suitable guide vanes to direct the air in an upwardly directed stream.
