Abstract

A method for accessing Internet content from a mobile device comprising a client-server system where clients can only access Internet content on the server where the client is registered. Internet content is described as a service and stored on the server. A service descriptor contains, the sequence of interactions with the user offline, and the parameters to be collected before the service can be invoked. Services can be published and updated regularly to registered clients. The client presents services as a list, where they can be filtered through typing of letters from the mobile device keypad. When a service is selected, the client collects parameters off-line from the user. Then, the client submits them to the related Internet site and obtains the results in a single transaction. These results can be saved locally on the client for later viewing. The client stores all parameters entered for re-using and automatic completion of user input. The client application submits service requests using SMS or IP-based protocols. All service requests are stored on the server.
