Abstract

844,919. Electroplating-racks. VILLETTE, G. Feb. 17, 1959 [Feb. 17, 1958], No. 5443/59. Class 41. A plating rack comprises a metallic structure 7, metallic sleeves 2 secured to or integral with the structure 7, each sleeve having notches 5 at each end and the sleeves 2 and structure 7 having a protective layer 8, e.g. of a plastic material, the layer having holes through which pins 1 are pushed to enter axially the bore of the sleeve, the pins I being formed at one end with a bent portion AB, at the other end with a shape adapted to carry articles to be plated, and in a middle portion formed with wings b which engage the notches 5. The purpose of the wings b is to prevent rotation of the pin 1 and to provide an abutment for the pin in a longitudinal direction, whilst the bend AB is to ensure good electrical contact between the parts 1, 2. The pins 1 may be of nickel and the sleeves 2 of stainless steel.
