Description

Multifunction wall-mounted washbasin bowl

The present invention relates to a multifunction wall-mounted washbasin bowl and to a sanitary appliance, in particular a washbasin, integrating such a bowl.

By bowl we mean here a tray, a basin, a basin or, more generally, a container or a hollow body intended to equip a sanitary appliance, in particular a sink, which is used for washing. A sink essentially comprises a hollow body, forming said bowl, provided with a water distributor and a draining device.

A major disadvantage of existing wall-hung sinks is that they are often intended for a specific use such as a hand washbasin, forearm washbasin or head washbasin. Inappropriate use of the sink is often uncomfortable and leads to water being splashed on the floor around the sink and the edges of the bowl, something not only unpleasant but sometimes dangerous (risk of slipping or humidity for example).

Existing wall-mounted sink bowls are not configured for comfortable foot washing. The user is forced to raise their foot above the suspended sink basin to place their foot there uncomfortably in unstable support. Such an acrobatics is not without risks, both for the stability of the suspended sink and for the user. This user may be an elderly, obese or potbellied person, a pregnant woman, a person wearing clothing restricting the movement of their foot, or more generally a person, for various reasons, unable to lift their foot high enough to move it to the above the edges of the suspended bowl. If cleaning the foot by rubbing it with one or both hands is necessary, then it is even more painful for the user, putting them at risk of slipping, reinforced by humidity and their unstable balance.

As for the fixing of suspended bowls, it is generally not designed to support a mainly vertical pressure such as that caused by the support of a foot placed in a suspended bowl by a user seeking to maintain his balance.

It is known from the state of the art sanitary appliances placed on the ground integrating a basin allowing several toilet treatments such as washing the face, hands, forearms and/or feet. However, these floor-mounted devices require a base serving as a seat (built-in or not), which makes them bulky and unsuitable for small sanitary premises. By integrating a seat, these devices are also relatively complex and expensive to manufacture. Also, the use of these devices is limited by constraints specific to the seat such as its capacity, its accessibility, and/or its distance from the tap. In addition, washing the feet in a seated position effectively using the hands requires the user's trunk to be as close as possible to their thighs, a physically demanding exercise for many people, especially when both legs are straight. .

Furthermore, the seat of a sanitary appliance placed on the floor is often exposed to wetness which, if not tested beforehand, can be a source of inconvenience for the user (in heavily frequented public sanitary premises or when it is successively used by several people, the seat is almost all the time wet or at least damp because of its proximity to the bowl). Finally, sitting down to wash oneself unnecessarily prolongs the time required, especially when cleanliness needs to be done several times a day, for example, as part of a ritual or to access/leave a place requiring such care. .

An object of the present invention is to at least partially overcome the aforementioned drawbacks.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a multifunction wall-mounted washbasin bowl allowing comfortable washing of several organs of the body.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a sanitary device that is convenient and comfortable to use for washing the face, hands, forearms, feet and/or head.

For this purpose, it is proposed, firstly, a multifunction suspended washbasin bowl comprising
- a bottom wall extending between a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first end and the second end being on either side of a vertical plane passing through the bottom wall;
- a front wall connected to the first end of the back wall;
- a rear wall connected to the second end of the bottom wall, the rear wall and the front wall facing each other;
- the front wall extending from the first end moving away from said vertical plane to a first height along a vertical axis of said vertical plane;
- the rear wall extending from the second end moving away from the vertical plane to a second height along said vertical axis;
- a first side wall and a second side wall connecting, on either side of the bottom wall, the front wall, the rear wall and the bottom wall so as to define an interior space of the washbasin bowl;
- the first side wall and/or the second side wall comprising a lower part located between the front wall and the rear wall, this lower part having a third height along said vertical axis less than the first height and the second height so as to creating a side passage to said interior space;
- a substantially flat rear support face parallel to said vertical plane intended to be fixed to a support, the rear wall being located between said vertical plane and the rear support face.

Various additional features can be provided, alone or in combination:
- the front wall extends in a first general direction making a first acute angle with the vertical plane, this first angle being greater than 45 degrees, between 50 and 60 degrees, or substantially equal to 56 degrees;
- the rear wall extends in a second general direction making a second acute angle with the vertical plane, this second angle being less than 45 degrees, between 20 and 30 degrees, or substantially equal to 26 degrees;
- the rear wall comprises at least one footrest intended to at least partially receive the sole of a foot, this footrest integrating a plurality of bulges;
- the first or second side wall is of decreasing height, along said vertical axis, going from the front wall towards the rear wall;
- the lower part is connected to the rear wall, the lower part having a free edge forming an obtuse angle with the rear wall;
- said obtuse angle is between 100 and 125 degrees;
- the lower part extends between the front wall and the rear wall;
- the front wall comprises a free edge, this free edge incorporating a rounded notch capable of receiving the neck or a calf of a user.

Secondly, a sanitary appliance is proposed comprising the multifunction wall-mounted washbasin bowl presented above.

Referring to the appended figures, a multifunction wall-mounted washbasin bowl 1 is shown incorporating a bottom wall 2 . This bottom wall 2 extends between a first end 21 and a second end 22 . The second end 22 is opposite the first end 21 .

The first end 21 and the second end 22 are on either side of a vertical plane P passing through the bottom wall 2 . The vertical plane P is a plane parallel to the direction of gravity. In one embodiment, the vertical plane P comprises a longitudinal axis and/or an axis of symmetry of the bottom wall 2 . This bottom wall 2 is, for example, of generally rectangular shape, the first and second ends 21 , 22 being in the direction of the length of the bottom wall 2 .

The multifunction wall-mounted washbasin bowl 1 further comprises a front (or front) wall 3 and a rear wall 4 connected, respectively, to the first end 21 and the second end 22 of the bottom wall 2 . The front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 face each other. The front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 are in the same half-space delimited by a horizontal plane perpendicular to the vertical plane P and passing through the bottom wall 2 .

The front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 extend, respectively, from the first end 21 and the second end 22 moving away from each other. Indeed, the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 diverge from the bottom wall 2 or, in other words, converge towards the bottom wall 2 .

The front wall 3 extends from the first end 21 moving away from the vertical plane P to a first height h 1 along a vertical axis of the vertical plane P. The rear wall 4 extends from the second end 22 moving away from the vertical plane P to a second height h 2 along said vertical axis. The front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 flare out starting from the bottom wall 2 on either side of the vertical plane P. The second height h 2 is greater than the first height h 1 .

In one embodiment, the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 are substantially flat. Alternatively, the front wall 3 may be slightly concave towards the inside of the sink bowl 1 or towards the rear wall 4 . The rear wall 4 can also be slightly concave towards the inside of the sink bowl 1 or substantially flat with two opposite rounded side edges. The rear wall 4 can, in fact, have in cross section the shape of a flattened mathematical bracket or that of a bracket hook with rounded corners.

The front wall 3 extends in a first general (or average) direction D 1 making a first acute angle A 1 with the vertical plane P. This first angle A 1 is, in one embodiment, greater than 45 degrees or, more preferably, between 50 and 60 degrees or between 50 and 65 degrees such as 48, 52, 56, 60, or 64 degrees.

The rear wall 4 extends in a second general (or average) direction D 2 making a second acute angle A2 with the vertical plane P. This second angle A2 is, in one embodiment, less than 45 degrees or, more preferably, between 15 and 40 degrees or between 20 and 30 degrees such as 22, 24, 26, or 28 degrees.

The rear wall 4 comprises at least one footrest 5 intended to at least partially receive the sole of a foot. This footrest 5 comprises, in one embodiment, a plurality of bulges 51 (bosses, reliefs, or projections) for good grip of the foot on the rear wall 4 . The bulges 51 are arranged so as to channel/guide the flow of water under the effect of the force of gravity towards the bottom wall 2 of the sink bowl 1 . The bulges 51 are smooth to avoid splashing water. Advantageously, these bulges 51 promote grip of the user's foot on the rear wall 4 , while avoiding the retention and projection of washing water.

In one embodiment, the footrest 5 is an integral part of the rear wall 4 (attached or obtained by deformation of the rear wall 4 ). In combination or alternatively, the footrest 5 comprises a non-slip mat attached to the rear wall 4 in a detachable or removable manner. Means for quickly attaching and releasing the footrest 5 may include, for example, suction cups. In this case, non-slip mats of different shapes, sizes, colors and/or patterns can be considered to meet the individual needs of users.

Preferably, the rear wall 4 comprises a pair of footrests 5 arranged on either side of a vertical plane of symmetry of the rear wall 4 , as illustrated by the . The footrest 5 is presented, in one embodiment, in the general form of a sole allowing the user to intuitively recognize where to place their foot to wash it.

A first side wall 6 and a second side wall 7 connect, on either side of the bottom wall 2 , the front wall 3 , the rear wall 4 and the bottom wall 2 so as to define an interior space of the washbasin bowl 1 . The bottom wall 2 , the front wall 3 , the rear wall 4 , and the side walls 6 , 7 together form a tank, a basin or, more generally, an interior space for collecting the washing water.

The first side wall 6 and the second side wall 7 face each other. The first side wall 6 and/or the second side wall 7 are, in one embodiment, substantially plane or concave towards the interior space of the washbasin bowl 1 (or convex towards the outside of the washbasin bowl 1 ) . The side walls 6 , 7 are substantially vertical and perpendicular to the vertical plane P. Alternatively, the side walls 6 , 7 widen starting from the bottom wall 2 . In other words, the side walls 6 , 7 extend from the bottom wall 2 moving away from each other.

The first side wall 6 and/or the second side wall 7 comprise a lower part 61 , 71 located between the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 . This lower part 61 , 71 has a third height h 3 along a vertical axis of the vertical plane P less than the first height h1 of the front wall 3 and the second height h2 of the rear wall 4 so as to create a lateral passage 8 towards the interior space of the sink bowl 1 . In one embodiment, the lower part 61 , 71 extends between the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 (i.e. the entire side wall 6 , 7 located between the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 ). In another embodiment, the lower part 61 , 71 (i.e. the reduction in height) of the side wall 6 , 7 is connected to the rear wall 4 (that is to say, on the side of the rear wall 4 ). More generally, at least one of the lateral parts 6 , 7 is, between the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 , at least partially of height, along a vertical axis, less than the first height h1 and the second height h2 so to create a lateral passage 8 towards the interior space.

The result is, advantageously, that the user can pass his foot via the lateral passage 8 above the lower part 61 , 71 without having to lift his foot up to the height h 1 of the front wall 3 . A user standing in front of the front wall 3 can, in fact, raise the leg bent at the knee at the level of the front wall 3 and the foot at the level of the lower part 61 , 71 and, by a substantially horizontal rotation movement, introduced via the lateral passage 8 , his foot in the sink bowl 1 to place it on the nearest footrest 5 . A concave/rounded shape of the front wall 3 makes it possible to avoid sharp angles as well as to facilitate the rotation of the lower limb to place the foot on the footrest 5 .

In embodiments illustrated by the appended figures, each of the side walls 6 , 7 comprises a lower part 61 , 71 of height h 3 less than the heights h 1 , h2 of the front and rear walls 3 , 4 so as to have two passages 8 lateral between the front and rear walls 3 , 4 allowing access to the interior space of the sink bowl 1 .

The side wall 6 , 7 is, in one embodiment, of height, along a vertical axis of the vertical plane P , decreasing or strictly decreasing going from the front wall 3 towards the rear wall 4 . For example, the side wall 6 , 7 is of height, along said vertical axis, strictly decreasing with a first non-zero slope going from the front wall 3 towards an intermediate position of the side wall 6 , 7 , then constant or decreasing with a second slope lower than the first slope going from said intermediate position towards the rear wall 4 (as illustrated in the appended figures).

By having a decreasing height between the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 , the side wall 6 , 7 advantageously allows the leg to be kept bent to insert the foot into the sink bowl 1 . A user in a standing position can thus comfortably bring their foot into the interior space of the sink bowl 1 without stretching their leg.

The free edge 62 , 72 (i.e. the upper edge) of the lower part 61 , 71 forms, in one embodiment, an obtuse angle A3 with the rear wall 4 so as to avoid stretching of the ankle or the foot to access the interior space of the washbasin bowl 1 laterally. This obtuse angle A3 is, for example, between 90 and 120 degrees or, preferably, between 100 and 125 degrees or between 110 and 120 degrees such as 116 degrees. While standing in front of the front wall 3 (see ), a user can thus pass his foot through the lateral passage 8 created by the lower part 61, 71 without effort of stretching his ankle or his foot so that the sole of his foot is quite naturally substantially parallel to the wall 4 rear to place it on the footrest 5. The user of a sanitary appliance integrating the sink bowl 1 can thus effortlessly place his foot on the footrest 5 in stable support so as to be able to free his hands.

Advantageously, the aforementioned angle formed by the rear wall 4 with the vertical plane P allows, when the sink bowl 1 is suspended at a suitable height (defined according to an average height of its users), to receive the plant of user's foot without stretching the latter. Indeed, taking into account the inclination of the rear wall 4 , the user comfortably places the full sole of his foot on the footrest 5 . Such support advantageously promotes the stability of the user so as to be able to free at least one of his two hands to, possibly, rub his foot or easily manipulate a water dispenser 4 3 (a hand shower for example). By having one foot resting comfortably on the footrest 5 and the other on the ground, the user can satisfactorily wash their feet without risk of losing their balance.

Advantageously, the flaring of the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 allows, in combination with the lateral passage 8 created by the particular profile of the lateral wall 6 , 7 , the user to easily introduce his foot into the basin 1 and wash it without any hassle.

When a user has his foot placed on the footrest 5 , the front wall 3 can constitute, thanks to the aforementioned angle that it forms with the vertical plane P , a support for the calf so as to further improve stability of the user and the comfort of use of the basin 1 . When the sink bowl 1 is suspended at a suitable predefined height, the front wall 3 advantageously allows, thanks to the angle it forms with the vertical plane P , to protect the user from splashes of washing water. The front wall 3 thus acts as a splash guard.

The arrangement of the rear wall 4 and/or the front wall 3 relative to the vertical plane P and/or the free edge 62 , 72 of the wall 6 1 , 7 1 low relative to the rear wall 4 corresponds to a use in the standing position of the sink bowl 1 , as illustrated by the . This sink bowl 1 is, in fact, intended to be suspended or arranged at a predefined height associated with the functional configuration of its walls. The inclined arrangement of the rear wall 4 advantageously attenuates the impact on the stability of the suspended washbasin bowl 1 of pressure exerted by a foot placed on the footrest 5.

In one embodiment, the sink bowl 1 can rest on at least one support, a column or a foot. Such a support makes it possible to support the sink bowl 1 and/or hide any drain and/or water supply pipes.

In embodiments illustrated by the appended figures, the side walls 6 , 7 extend beyond the rear wall 4 to a rear support face 10 . In other words, the side walls 6 , 7 extend towards the rear of the sink bowl 1 beyond the rear wall 4 to the rear support face 10 . The rear wall 4 is located between the vertical plane P and the rear support face 10 . The rear support face 10 is intended to be fixed to a support. This rear support face 10 is, in one embodiment, substantially flat parallel to the vertical plane P. The support can be a vertical wall 11 or the rear support face of another washbasin bowl 1 placed back to back at a predefined height from the ground.

In one embodiment, the rear support face 10 comprises a plurality of fixing points allowing the fixing of the sink bowl 1 against a vertical wall 11 (for example, arranged in a rim of the side walls forming a frame for a wall installation of washbasin bowl 1 ). More generally, the rear support face 10 can be defined by at least part of a substantially planar support edge, at least part of a support edge and a support point or at least three points support defining a substantially flat rear support face 10 .

In one embodiment, the rear wall 4 comprises a horizontal rim 41 forming a substantially horizontal surface . This rim 41 can be towards the rear of the sink bowl 1 towards the rear support face 10 or towards the front of the sink bowl 1 towards the front wall 3 . In the embodiments illustrated by the appended figures, the rim 4 1 extends to the rear support face 10 . In one embodiment, the rim 4 1 forms a shelf or a shelf.

In another embodiment, the rear wall 4 is extended vertically upwards by a backsplash 4 2 .

At least one fixing hole is provided in the rear wall 4 , in its horizontal rim 4 1 and/or in the backsplash 4 2 is configured to receive a water distributor 4 3 such as a faucet, a mixer, a mixer tap , an extractable hand shower, a hand shower. This water dispenser 4 3 is provided with a manual or automatic control device.

Furthermore, the bottom wall 2 comprises an evacuation orifice 23 allowing the evacuation of a liquid collected in the sink bowl 1 . To facilitate this evacuation, the bottom wall 2 is, in one embodiment, slightly inclined towards the evacuation orifice 23 , or at least slightly concave towards the inside of the sink bowl 1 so as to avoid stagnation. of water in basin 1 of the sink. The evacuation port 23 is arranged at the lowest point of the bottom wall 2 . A draining device (a siphon or any other suitable drain connection) can be connected to the drain port 23 . This draining device as well as the water distributor 4 3 can be supplied together with the sink bowl 1 or independently of it.

In one embodiment, the free edge 31 of the front wall 3 comprises a rounded notch 3 2 capable of receiving the neck (neck rest) of the user so that his head is leaned forward in the interior space of the sink bowl 1 . The sink bowl 1 can thus be used as a head wash.

The rounded notch 3 2 is also capable of receiving a calf of the user (calf rest), in particular when he places his foot on the footrest 5 . This advantageously improves the stability and comfort of the user's posture when washing their feet.

Various accessories can be fitted to the sink bowl 1 such as a towel rack attached to one or other of the side walls 6 , 7 , a soap dish placed on the rear wall 4 , an overflow port ( overflow or drain hole) fitted in the front wall 3 or in the rear wall 4 .

A lining 3 3 of the front wall 3 extends from the free edge 31 of the front wall 3 to at least partially below the bottom wall 2 . In one embodiment, the lining 33 extends to the rear support face 10 , passing under the bottom wall 2 . The lining 33 may include an access hatch to the draining devices and/or to the water supply means to which the water distributor 4 3 is connected, and/or to fixing points on the rear face 10 of support.

A connection between the lining and the side walls 6 , 7 improves the stability of the washbasin bowl 1 . In the example of the embodiments illustrated by the appended figures, the side walls 6 , 7 extend towards the bottom of the sink bowl 1 beyond the bottom wall 2 and the front wall 3 up to the lining 33 . The extension of the side walls 6 , 7 up to the rear support face 10 and the lining 33 of the front wall 3 forms a housing capable of receiving the piping of the water supply and draining means.

The sink bowl 1 can be made of any material suitable for sanitary appliances. It can, for example, be made of ceramic (such as earthenware or iron clay), natural stone, stainless steel, composite material, plastic, polyester reinforced with glass fibers and/or enamel. . The sink bowl 1 can be made in a single piece or be composed of several parts assembled in a sealed manner.

A sanitary device, in particular a sink, integrating the sink bowl 1 provided with a water distributor 4 3 and a draining device can be installed in an individual bathroom or, more generally, in any sanitary room for washing, in particular, the hands, forearms, feet or head.

This sanitary device can, in particular, be installed anywhere where washing feet (or objects at least partially covering these feet such as boots or flip-flops) is required or desirable, such as when leaving a beach. , at the entrance to a swimming pool or sauna, or at the entrance/exit of an environment where the feet and/or objects covering them are likely to be soiled by microbes or undesirable products ( construction sites, farms, food factories, quarantine zones, or slaughterhouses for example).

Advantageously, a sanitary appliance integrating the sink bowl 1 presented above
- provides comfort of use by minimizing the physical effort required;
- promotes, thanks to the particular arrangement of the walls of the washbasin bowl, the user's balance;
- limits splashing of washing water;
- has a small footprint so that it can be installed in a space intended for a traditional wall-hung sink;
- is easy to maintain.

Claims (10)

Bowl ( 1 ) of multifunction wall-mounted washbasin including
- a bottom wall ( 2 ) extending between a first end ( 21 ) and a second end ( 22 ) opposite the first end ( 21 ), the first end ( 21 ) and the second end ( 22 ) being on either side and on the other hand a vertical plane ( P ) passing through the bottom wall ( 2 );
- a front wall ( 3 ) connected to the first end ( 21 ) of the bottom wall ( 2 );
- a rear wall ( 4 ) connected to the second end ( 22 ) of the bottom wall ( 2 ), the rear wall ( 4 ) and the front wall ( 3 ) facing each other;
- the front wall ( 3 ) extending from the first end ( 21 ) moving away from said vertical plane ( P ) up to a first height ( h 1 ) along a vertical axis of said vertical plane ( P );
- the rear wall ( 4 ) extending from the second end ( 22 ) moving away from the vertical plane ( P ) up to a second height ( h2 ) along said vertical axis;

Washbasin bowl ( 1 ) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first or second side wall ( 6 , 7 ) is of decreasing height, along said vertical axis, going from the wall ( 3 ) front towards the rear wall ( 4 ). Washbasin bowl ( 1 ) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the lower part ( 61 , 71 ) is connected to the rear wall ( 4 ), the lower part ( 61 , 71 ) having an edge ( 62 , 72 ) free forming an obtuse angle ( A3 ) with the rear wall ( 4 ). Washbasin bowl ( 1 ) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that said obtuse angle ( A3 ) is between 100 and 125 degrees. Washbasin bowl ( 1 ) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the lower part ( 61 , 71 ) extends between the front wall ( 3 ) and the rear wall ( 4 ).
