Abstract

L’invention concerne un matériau composite (10) à renforts textiles résistant aux impacts, notamment pour le domaine de la protection balistique, comportant un empilement de renforts textiles (1) liés entre eux par une matrice thermofusible (2) après assemblage sous pression à chaud. Il est caractérisé en ce qu’au moins une partie des renforts textiles (1) est constituée d’un velours double face, formant un complexe textile en trois dimensions 3D, et en ce que la matrice thermofusible (2) est intégrée dans ledit complexe textile et préférentiellement dans au moins une partie des poils du velours s’étendant transversalement. Lors de l’assemblage sous pression à chaud, lesdits renforts textiles (1) se lient entre eux dans les trois dimensions XYZ par les poils qui contiennent la matrice thermofusible (2), qui s’interpénètrent entre eux et aux renforts textiles adjacents, et qui s’aplatissent sous la pression pour former une couche d’interface entre les renforts textiles, ayant pour effet de consolider ledit matériau composite (10).
