The invention relates, in hippology, to a noseband for a combined noseband bridle, with or without a bit, used with direct or “side-pull” reins.

A bridle may include a headpiece, a browband, a throat strap attached to its uprights, bit uprights and a noseband attached to the bit uprights, for the riding of horses by riders.

The noseband, applied to the muzzle of a horse, that is to say the part of the front of the head between the underside of the ears, or the base of the forehead, and the nostrils, and which encircles the trough of the horse, has the particular function of controlling the opening of the jaw, that is to say, limiting the opening of the mouth.

Note that a noseband is provided with an attachment element, a D-shaped driving ring, for the passage of the reins or the “side-pull”, or even for fixing the reins.

When the rider pulls the reins, the noseband pulls the horse's nose backwards.

If the bridle is provided with a “side-pull”, its rear portions tighten and push the chamfer forward, with a vertical component of action downwards on the headpiece, so that the entire bridle The horse's head is well controlled, or channeled.

PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION

Thus, the invention of the present application relates to a noseband for a combined noseband bridle, comprising two attachment elements, a central portion, intended to be applied to the nose of a horse, and two lateral portions extending between the central portion and one of the attachment elements, noseband characterized in that it comprises means arranged to prohibit the movement of the noseband on the chamfer under the action of traction on one of the attachment elements.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The combined noseband bridle 1 of the is here a bitless bridle, but, it must be emphasized, this is absolutely not a limiting characteristic of the noseband of the invention.

The bridle 1 comprises, in a conventional manner, a headpiece 2, extended by bit amounts 3 and throat amounts 4, a throat 5, a frontal 6 and a noseband 7, on the other hand non-standard and provided with characteristics of the invention.

The noseband 7 is fixed to the headpiece 2 by its jaw amounts 3 and links 8, 8' fixed to the noseband in its lateral portions, near its driving rings which will be discussed below.

The noseband 7 ( ) comprises a central part 9, two side portions 10, 11, forming the upper part 12 of the noseband intended to be applied to the chamfer 13 of the horse's head.

This upper part 12 is extended by two closure extensions 14, 15, forming the lower part of the noseband and intended to close the noseband on the trough 16 of the horse and thus encircle it.

The noseband, as indicated above, is fixed to the headpiece 2 by links or straps 8, 8' fixed to the jaw amounts 3 of the bridle, the links 8, 8' being fixed, here by sewing, to the side portions 10, 11 near the closure extensions 14, 15, here slightly below the rings 17, 17'.

The central part 9 of the noseband, intended to apply to the nose 13 of the horse, is widened, for the comfort of the horse.

At the level of the reinforcements 20, 21 arranged between the lower 19 and upper 24 bands, the noseband is therefore notably thickened and curved.

For the comfort of the horse, padding 25 is applied under the lower band 19.

As an indication, and absolutely not limiting, and only for information for the public, in the preferred embodiment of the noseband of the invention, the thickness of the lower band 19 is 3 mm, that of the reinforcements 20, 21 , of 4 mm, that of the upper strip 24, of 1 mm and that of the padding 25, of 4 mm.

The covering of these reinforcements by the upper strip 24, in leather ultimately quite thick, cannot be perfect and apply at right angles to the top and the side faces of the reinforcements, so that, deviating slightly in the upper part and in the lower parts, the lateral portions 10, 11 of the noseband are slightly convex, as illustrated in the .
