Ce dispositif comprend une base (1) mobile sur le sol, un organe de diffusion de liquide (4), en particulier d’eau, un système d’alimentation (7) en liquide, en particulier depuis le réseau d’eau potable, des moyens de commande configurés pour alimenter en liquide l’organe de diffusion pendant une durée prédéfinie, ainsi qu’un ensemble de liaison (5) permettant de conférer deux positions fonctionnelles distinctes à l’organe de diffusion par rapport à la base, à savoir une position de stockage, dans laquelle l’organe de diffusion est replié au voisinage de la base, et au moins une position active, dans laquelle l’organe de diffusion est déplié par rapport à la base, de manière à pouvoir être placé au-dessus de la zone de réception (104) de l’étalage et à y diffuser le liquide. L’invention permet donc de proposer un dispositif permettant d’éliminer, de manière simple et fiable, sensiblement la totalité de la glace présente sur un étalage d’exposition de produits à la vente. Par ailleurs une grande partie du fonctionnement peut s’opérer sans intervention humaine, ce qui réduit les pertes de temps tout en évitant les blessures liées au transport de la glace.
