Abstract
The present invention is a multifunction frame cover, characterized in that it contains a system of 2 perforated boards specifically [fig 1] [fig 2] as assembled together one on the other in a contiguous manner, in four different positions, allow, by the combination of lights in the material, to access different functions (feeder, queen excluder, bee chaser, closed frame cover). The goal is to reduce the intervention by opening the hive, while simplifying the actions of the beekeeper. The invention is therefore intended for the beekeeping community and its practitioners.
Description
Les nombres de ruches sont issues des déclarations téléruchers 2019, publication en septembre 2020).The device according to the invention is particularly intended for beekeepers knowing that in 2019, the number of hives in France was 1,584,273 ( Source : Observatory of the production of honey and royal jelly of FranceAgrimer 2019, published in June 2020. The numbers of hives are taken from the 2019 remote apiaries declarations, publication in September 2020).
The excess mortality of the swarms dangerously jeopardizes the beekeeping environment, in particular the professionals. The decline in the bee population is dangerous for biodiversity. Climate change is one of the reasons. Indeed, to be able to open a hive, an outside temperature of at least 17°C is required. At the beginning of the season, interventions are to be carried out (add a feeder) but the weather conditions do not allow the hive to be opened in many cases. In addition, opening the hive to be able to intervene (placing a queen excluder, placing a feeder, etc.) disrupts the life of the swarm and in particular the laying of the queen for several hours. The more we open the hives, the more we weaken the swarm.
It is known from the state of the art for bee deterrent, feeder, queen excluder and frame cover devices, but all arranged on separate and independent elements, which requires the hive to be opened each time. intervention, which disrupts the life of the swarm and requires handling heavily loaded supers.
Document FR979938 describes a system of two sliding boards covering a hive body. However, said system does not allow the passage of bees through the boards and cannot be inserted between the hive body and a super. Conversely, the present invention is differentiated by holes allowing the passage of bees and the possibility of arranging between the hive body and a super.
The present invention aims, through its system of sliding boards, to intervene on the hive when the time comes without the need to open the hive body and/or the extensions.
According to one aspect of the invention, the two boards are guided and held in an appropriate device which will be called a frame. It will perfectly fit the shape of the hive in order to adapt to the superior conformation and thus ensure the perfect airtightness for the tranquility of the swarm.
According to one aspect of the invention, the device is intended to overhang the hive body or its extensions, and it comprises in its center two specifically perforated boards.
According to one aspect of the invention, the upper board is removable and slides in the box.
Frame size may vary to accommodate different beehive designs.
The invention is not limited to the device described and represented. The arrangement and size and number of the orifices may be modified without departing from the scope of the invention. It is possible to slide or rotate moving parts between them in a different way than in the device described and presented but for the same purpose without departing from the scope of the invention.
