La MULTICARTE est une carte au format carte de crédit réunissant plusieurs identifiants de produits tels que la Carte d'Identité, le Passeport, la Carte Vitale, le Permis de Conduire, les cartes bancaires, les cartes d'abonnements, les cartes de transport (bus, métro, train, avion), les cartes de fidélité, les clés de serrures sans contact(voitures, maisons), les clés de serrures magnétiques (chambres d'hôtels, maisons), sans que cette liste ne soit exhaustive. Ces identifiants sont présents sur la carte sous forme de QR-Code et/ou dans une puce électronique (pour les lecteurs de cartes à puces) et/ou dans une puce sans contact ISO/CEI 14443 et/ou dans une bande magnétique (pour les lecteurs de cartes magnétiques). Il permet à son utilisateur d'avoir tous ces identifiants sur lui. Il permet aussi à une autorité ou à un système automatique de vérification d'avoir accès à ces identifiants au moyen d'un lecteur optique (lecteur de QR-Code), magnétique ou sans contact.
