Abstract

Duvet cover and quilts made in a different way. The invention overcomes the difficulties of threading traditional duvet covers. This new type of duvet cover is made in one piece. When the fabric is cut, it should be folded back and folded in the middle (2). Then proceed to the realization of three horizontal seams made at equal distances (3), thus forming three compartments of identical size, each designed to integrate a mini duvet of equal size. The openings are lateral on both sides (4). The three compartments are closed at the ends with press studs (5). Compartmented duvet and mini duvets

The present invention proposes a production different from the traditional duvet cover, as well as its filling, in order to obtain an amply facilitated threading, because without effort and without complication.

Installing a duvet in its cover, especially if the latter is large, is very difficult and tiring, despite the existing methods "clothespin technique" or "burrito technique". The cover poses a problem in terms of its large dimensions. Some people go straight inside the cover to install the duvet correctly, corner by corner. Others need to work together to make this change. Finally, you have to stand up on the bed to shake the whole thing! Elderly or disabled people must have recourse to a third person and those who are young and in good physical health still dread this weekly ordeal.

The present invention makes it possible to remedy the main difficulty of threading encountered with the traditional cover and its traditional duvet. The general appearance remaining the same, this new type of duvet cover is made using three (double) horizontal seams made at equal distances, thus forming three compartments of identical size, each designed to incorporate a mini duvet of equal size. The openings are lateral on both sides. The three compartments close at both ends with press studs. All you have to do is slip each mini duvet into its compartment and close the buttons.

It also has various advantages:

• the many people with hot feet will put on the two mini duvets of the two upper compartments and will not put the mini duvet at the bottom at foot level;
• good support in each compartment prevents the top duvet from descending and having 10 cm of empty tissue at the level of the neck and shoulders, which is systematically the case with the traditional cover;
• the duvet cover will be machine washed and dried, press studs closed. It won't knot, the rest of the laundry won't fit inside, which is very common in front-loading machines;
• mini duvets can now be machine washed and tumble dried at home and will remove the need to go to the dry cleaners or laundromat to wash and dry an oversized duvet in high capacity machines. They thus eliminate displacement, waste of time, because it is necessary to wait several hours while the machines turn, and these last are not always very clean.

The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention:

The manufacture can be done by assembling two identical parts of fabric but it seems easier to make this duvet cover in one piece. When the fabric is cut (Figure 1), you must start by making a finishing hem around the edge (1). When the latter is finished (Figure 2), the fabric must be folded down and folded in the middle, on the fold line (2), the hem inside. With the two layers of fabric now superimposed, all you have to do is make three seams (3) (double for more solidity) at equal distance from each other. These seams thus completed form three compartments of identical size having an opening at each end (4). These six side openings are each closed by two press studs (5). The classic flap (6) keeps the cover under the mattress.

This new type of compartmentalized cover and its mini duvets are particularly intended for textile manufacturers, manufacturers and distributors specializing in bed linen.
