Description
The invention relates to a device for distributing liquid chlorine in swimming pool water, according to a principle that this device does not call for:
- Adjustment and verification of chlorine levels, once the device has been installed and started up,
- Measurement by temperature or pH sensor technology,
using conventional components already used in chlorine distribution devices, such as:
- A tank containing chlorine,
- A chlorine distribution pump,
- An electronic card which manages the flow rate of the distribution pump via an appropriate program,
characterized more particularly by other known devices, by:
- A program contained in the electronic card which is initially configured according to all the universally predefined degrees of pollution and use, corresponding to the different uses encountered in swimming pool water,
- A program command that selects the flow rate of chlorine to be dispensed according to the parameter selected when the device was installed.
State of knowledge: The automatic chlorination devices for swimming pools listed in the public domain can be distinguished according to several technological families:
- A first relating to a pebble-type solid chlorine supply,
- A second relating to the principle of liquid chlorine.
Relating to pebble-type solid chlorine supplies : patents exist such as FR2714044A1 (Device suitable for containing stacked chlorine pebbles and allowing one or more of the pebbles below the stack to dissolve gradually on contact with water) , EP0555600A1 ( this process uses the dissolution of a chlorinated agent by a controlled circulation of water: the control of the circulation of water controls the speed of dissolution and thereby adapts the level of chlorine to the requirements). The devices mentioned have the advantage of allowing the dissolution of solid chlorine in the pool but they have the main drawback of not being able to be the subject of any flow depending on the use and the pollution of the pool; these devices being only simple receptacles of solid chlorine.
Relating to the principles of distribution of liquid chlorine : This family mentions a supply of chlorine with a measurement of the temperature and the pH using sensors which inform the program, the latter then controlling the flow causing it to evolve according to the established reading. We can cite as a representative example of these technologies the patent FR2680022A1 : “Process and device for automatic management and monitoring of a swimming pool”. In the use that is made of this type of device, a major drawback is noted, which is the obsolescence resulting from the clogging of the pipes at the inlet and outlet of the device, in particular at the place where the sensors are positioned. It is useful to recall the action of the stabilizer contained in the water which causes the clogging of the orifices, so that a device having a program which continuously adapts the flow of chlorine according to the measurement by sensors, presents a significant obsolescence of the due to the clogging of the sensors. It will then be a question of frequently checking the installation to avoid these inconveniences, otherwise these devices have an inappropriate functioning which can have harmful consequences on the health of the users by contravening all the recommendations of public health of the swimming pools.
In conclusion, having regard to the existing principles, the known technologies are constrained in that either:
- The devices have no regulation of the chlorine flow, this flow is then hypothetical and difficult to be precise,
- The devices have a regulation system operating using sensors, in this second case frequent human intervention is necessary to unclog the sensors and make it possible to control the flow rate of the program.
It is to remedy these drawbacks that the present invention is intended.

When the installer installs the device, he agrees to identify the use of the swimming pool:
- number of regular bathers, frequency of use,
- and environmental data: geographical position of the swimming pool, installation inside or outside buildings, estimation of environmental pollution (frequency of road, wood, etc.).
According to this use and installation diagnosis, it activates the control on the position which corresponds to the identified use parameter. If the swimming pool is used in other conditions of use and environment, the user can modify the selected parameter at any time using the command available on the device. However, this possibility means that the device does not require any maintenance or adjustment, apart from replenishing the tank with chlorine.
