Abstract

The invention relates to a walker device (1), comprising a tricycle frame (2) connected to two front wheels (3) and a rear wheel (4), said frame (2) comprising a main beam (7) on which is secured a seat or support device (15; 24; 26; 29) and a front frame part (8) connected to the two front wheels (3) and to said main beam (7). The device is remarkable in that the main crossmember (7) of the frame is straight and in that it comprises a yoke (6) fixed on the main crossmember (7) and on which the seat or support device (15) ; 24; 26; 29) is detachably mounted and pivoted between a use position in which the seating or support device (15; 24; 26; 29) stands on the main cross member (7) forming a first an angle with it and a folded position in which the seat or removable support device (15; 24; 26; 29) is folded against the main cross member (7) forming a second angle (B) with it, said first angle being greater than said second angle (B) and said second (B) being between substantially 0 ° and 40 °.

Description

MODULAR DEAMBULATOR DEVICE

The invention relates to a walking device, intended more particularly, but not exclusively, for people who have difficulty moving, such as people with reduced mobility.

It also relates to improvements made in the field of three-wheel vehicles such as balance bikes.

The invention was developed to help people get around.

People suffering from certain diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, are victims of "freezing" syndromes: Freezing is characterized by sudden immobility which can last a few seconds or a few minutes. The feet remain glued to the ground, the person stomps and is unable to transfer the weight of his body on one leg in order to move forward. This syndrome is the cause of many falls.

However, if we offer these people devices on which to rest (walker for example) then the freezing syndrome disappears and the person can move more easily: this phenomenon seems to have a relationship with the stable benchmark that constitute the devices .

At the origin of the invention, we therefore wanted to create a movement aid device for such people.

We were interested in devices equipped with wheels, such as balance bikes for adults: indeed, depending on the shape of their frame and the height of the saddle, such devices can be "straddled" by people who, once installed , are stable when seated on the saddle with their feet positioned flat on the ground on either side of the frame.

Document EP2 844 207 discloses such a balance bike allowing people with reduced mobility to move fluidly and efficiently just by pushing on their feet.

Document EP 2 844 207 describes a walking device, comprising a tricycle frame connected to two front wheels and a rear wheel, said frame comprising:

- a main crossmember to which a seat or support device is fixed, which has a first crossmember end fitted with a handlebar and a second crossmember end connected to said rear wheel, and

- a front part of the frame, connected to the two front wheels and to said main crossmember.

Such a walking device can be bulky when not in use: this is why a foldable version is provided in this document. To do this, the frame is designed in two parts connected together by a hinge.

Document US D 753 553 also presents a technical solution which allows the walker device to fold up for less bulk when it is not in use.

However, both solutions are cumbersome, even when folded.

The invention aims to provide a less bulky walker device when folded. It also aims to offer a device that can also be used by able-bodied people, or an evolving device that adapts to a worsening of the handicap, or even to offer a modular device that can be used for different applications other than moving people to reduced mobility.

To this end, the invention relates to a walking device, comprising a tricycle frame connected to two front wheels and a rear wheel, said frame comprising:

- a main crossmember to which a seat or support device is fixed, which has a first crossmember end fitted with a handlebar and a second crossmember end connected to said rear wheel, and

- a front part of the frame, connected to the two front wheels and to said main crossmember.

The device according to the invention is remarkable in that the frame cross member is straight and in that it comprises a yoke fixed on the cross member and on which the seat or support device is removably mounted and swivels between a position of use according to which the removable seat or support device stands on the cross member forming a first angle with it and a folded position according to which the removable seat or support device is folded against the cross member forming a second angle with it, said first angle being greater than said second angle and said second angle being between substantially 0 ° and 40 °.

Thus produced, the walker device allows the user to remove and / or fold the seat or support device. In addition, the possibility of removing the seat or support device makes it possible to adapt, on the walker device, a seat or support device to the user: it can thus be changed easily and at leisure.

Furthermore, the possibility of folding the support and seating device makes it possible to make the walker device less bulky during storage.

The walker device can also, and advantageously, comprise a second yoke fixed on the cross-member and on which the front part of the frame is also pivotally mounted between a position of use of the device according to which the front part of the frame is distant from the main cross-member and a folded position in which the front part of the frame is brought closer to the cross-member.

According to this embodiment, the walker device has two foldable parts against the main crosspiece: the front part of the frame and the seat and support device. In this way, the walking device is presented in a compact form in the folded position which occupies less space than the known walking devices: that of the aforementioned document EP2 844 207 is indeed higher than the device according to the invention which has a much longer, flatter.

The invention may also include the following characteristics, taken separately or in combination:

- The yoke has a first U-shaped element and a second U-shaped element, the two said first and second U-shaped elements respectively having a first and a second bottom wall, said first and second bottom walls being connected by a curved strip, the seat or removable support device comprises a mounting chimney which is pivotally mounted on a clevis cross member which comprises said second U-shaped element, and the first U-shaped element is fixed on the cross member of the frame;

- The first and second bottom walls form an angle between substantially 100 ° and 120 °, preferably an angle of substantially 110 °;

- the yoke comprises a stiffening element substantially in the shape of a triangle which extends between said first and second bottom walls in a plane perpendicular to said first and second bottom walls;

- The frame comprises a second cross connecting said second end of the main cross to an end of the front part of the frame in the vicinity of the two front wheels, and the second cross carries footrests;

- the frame is enclosed at least partially in a protective casing having at least two parallel walls, fixed on either side of the main cross member of the frame;

- The device is equipped with a braking system at least on said rear wheel and a control system, connected to said braking system, said control system being provided at the handlebars and being connected to said braking system by cables, said cables extending inside said main cross member;

- the removable seat or support device is a saddle;

- the removable seat or support device is a removable chair;

- the removable seat or support device is a carrycot for young children;

- the removable seat or support device is a basket;

- the handlebar is mounted tilting around a substantially horizontal axis;

- Said main cross is of rectangular or square section.

Thus produced, the device according to the invention constitutes a technical assistance device for people with reduced mobility by allowing:

- Walking assistance, for people with muscular weakness,

- A means of post-operative functional rehabilitation,

- Resumption of physical activity for all pathologies where the management of balance is a sensitive parameter to reassure people and respond to health deficiencies,

- Maintaining physical contact between parents, one being a person with reduced mobility and the other not because it offers autonomy to the person with reduced mobility, allowing him to stay with his loved ones ...

The device can be used both indoors and outdoors: it thus constitutes an original means of transport, secure in particular for people with reduced mobility, also offering another look at disability and the means to overcome it.

Thanks to the original design of the device allowing the separation of the seat and support device to replace it with another, the device according to the invention can be used by people other than people with reduced mobility. It can also be scalable.

Finally, it allows you to carry different objects in addition to serving as a walking device.

In the following description, the terms "lower", "upper", "high", "low" etc ... are used with reference to the drawings for greater ease of understanding. They should not be understood as limitations on the scope of the invention.

In the following description, several embodiments are presented in the drawings. To simplify reading, the references designating the same or similar objects (same function but possible different forms) have been kept from one embodiment to another.

Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a walker device 1 according to the invention.

The walking device 1 is a type of balance bike for adults.

The walker device 1 comprises a frame 2, two front wheels

3, a rear wheel 4 and a handlebar 5, in a conventional manner.

The particularity of the invention lies in the shape of the frame and in the presence of at least one yoke 6 which will now be described with reference to this first embodiment.

Frame 2 can be made of wood, metal alloy, plastic, resin, carbon or any other material rigid enough to support the weight of an adult.

The frame 2 comprises, a main cross member 7 produced by a square section tube having a first upper end 71 and a second lower end 70. The main cross member 7 is straight.

The frame 2 also has a front part 8 of the frame.

The front part 8 of the frame is connected to the two front wheels 3. It is visible in more detail in FIGS. 6 to 9.

The front part 8 of the frame is made from square section tubes. It has an inverted Y shape, comprising a main arm 80 connected to the main cross member 7 and two secondary arms 81, extending symmetrically on either side of a plane of symmetry comprising the main arm 80.

The two secondary arms 81 of the front frame 8 are each equipped, at their free end, with a fixing plate 9 (visible more particularly in FIG. 7) on which is fixed a yoke 10 of the wheel 3: the yoke 10 of the wheel is a U-shaped part, having an axis on which the wheel 3 is mounted to rotate freely.

The fixing plates 9 can also serve as a support for fixing shock-absorbing elements (not shown).

The front wheels 3 are movable in rotation about their axis. It should however be understood that they could also be pivotally mounted around a vertical axis without departing from the scope of the invention.

In the context of this embodiment, the fixing plates are of substantially rectangular shape with rounded corners, having a width of substantially 100 mm for a length of substantially 145 mm.

Regarding the rear wheel 4, several embodiments are possible:

Figures 1, 7, 10 and 11 show a first embodiment according to which the rear wheel 4 is fixed to a second yoke 11 of the wheel.

The wheel yoke 11 is a U-shaped piece, the arms of which are positioned on either side of the wheel 4, the wheel 4 being mounted so as to be able to rotate about its axis which is itself fixed between the two arms. of the screed 11.

The yoke 11 of the wheel 4 is fixed to the second end 70 of the main cross member 7.

Figures 6 and 13 show another embodiment of the rear wheel 4: the rear wheel 4 is double and mounted on a tubular bearing 12, engaged in the tube of the main cross member 7 (see Figure 13).

The tubular bearing 12 has a through opening, crossed by a projecting axis 13 on either side of the tubular bearing 12. A wheel 4 is then engaged on each of the projecting parts of the axis 13, on either side of the tubular bearing 12.

The front 3 and rear 4 wheels have a diameter of approximately 250 mm.

One can plan to drill two through openings in the tubular bearing 12 to position the axle 13 in the high position or in the low position, thus allowing two wheel diameters 4.

FIG. 13 also shows a braking system 14, fixed around the axis 13 of the rear wheel 4. The braking system 14 is connected to a control system provided at the level of the handlebars 5 (not illustrated but conventional in itself) by cables which are here introduced inside the main cross member 7.

The handlebar 5 is shown more particularly in Figures 1 and 12. It is produced by a hollow tube 50 in this example, but it could be full without departing from the scope of the invention.

The tube 50 has two end parts 51 which are aligned with each other along a straight line D, perpendicular to the axis Z of the main crosspiece 7.

The tube 50 also has a curved central part 52, connecting the two end parts 51.

The curved central part 52 is fixed in its center to a bracket 53. To do this, the bracket 53 has one end comprising a through opening, through which the curved central part 52 is inserted and fixed.

The bracket 53 has a second end which is pivotally mounted on a fixing piece 54 to the main crosspiece 7.

To do this, the main cross member 7 is equipped with a protruding pin 55, and the fixing piece 54 is fixed to the pin 55.

Thanks to this bracket 53 and to its fixing part 54, the handlebar 5 can tilt around a substantially horizontal axis parallel to Tax D of the handlebar. Preferably, the stem comprises safety catches making it possible to fix the inclination of the handlebar 5.

Reference will now be made to the yoke 6 which comprises the device according to the invention.

The yoke 6 is fixed to the main cross member 7 and allows the mobile fixing of a seat or support device.

The expression “seat or support device” will be understood to mean a device which allows a user to sit or have a load supported by the walker device 1.

In the context of the embodiment presented in FIGS. 1 to 14, the seat and support device is a saddle 15.

In the context of the embodiment presented, the walker device comprises two yokes 6: the two yokes 6 are fixed to the main crosspiece

7. One of the yokes 6 carries the saddle 15 (the seat and support device) and the other connects the main cross member 7 to the front part 8 of the frame 2.

The two elements carried by the yokes 6 (saddle 15 and front part 8 of the frame) are both mounted on an axis carried by each of the yokes 6, allowing the pivoting movement of these two elements.

Figures 2 to 5 show an embodiment of these yokes 6.

The yoke 6 has two U-shaped elements: a first element 60 and a second element 61.

In the context of the example illustrated in FIG. 1, the first and second U-shaped elements are of identical shape. In the context of the example illustrated in Figures 2 to 5, the first and second U-shaped elements do not have the same shape.

However, the first and second elements 60 and 61 of the two embodiments have in common that they each have a bottom wall 62 and 63, respectively, and that these two bottom walls are connected by a curved strip 64.

The advantage of making a crosspiece of square (or rectangular) section is to position and fix the two yokes 6 on the sleeper without the risk that the yoke cannot be rotated around the main sleeper 7.

It should be noted that, even if the example illustrates a main tubular cross member 7 of square section, the invention also extends to the production of a main tubular cross member 7 of rectangular section, producing the same technical effect: preventing the rotation of the yoke around the main cross member 7 after fixing.

The yoke 6 has dimensions adapted to be positioned astride the cross member and so that the two lateral projecting walls 65 (for the first element 60), located on either side of the bottom walls of the first and second elements 60 and 61, are positioned against a surface of the main cross member 7.

The lateral projecting walls 66 of the second U-shaped element 61 allow the attachment and rotation of the objects added to the main crosspiece: the saddle 15 and the front part 8 of the frame.

To do this, the projecting walls 66 each have two or three through openings: one of the openings serves as a support for the ends of a rod (or clevis cross member) on which is also mounted part of the added object: c 'is thus that the insert can pivot around the rod (or clevis cross 6). The other opening serves as a passage for a fastening element, such as a pin or a screw. Finally, a third opening allows the attached object to be fixed in the folded position, also by inserting a pin.

As for the first element 60, it also has two through openings, used here only for fixing the yoke 6 on the main crosspiece 7.

Figure 8 shows an embodiment where the yokes 6 illustrated in Figures 2 to 5 are used to fix the saddle 15 and the front part 8 of the frame.

Figures 8 and 9 illustrate by arrows F the possible rotation of the saddle 15 and the front part 8 of the frame between a position of use (position shown in Figures 8 and 9) and a folded position (not shown).

In the position of use, the saddle 15 (or the seat or support device) stands on the cross member and forms a first angle A with it.

In the folded position, the saddle 15 (or the seat or support device) is folded against the cross-member: if the end of the saddle 15 touches the cross-member 7, it forms a second angle B (visible in FIG. 1).

We see that the first angle A is greater than the second angle B. In the context of our example, the angle B is between 0 and 40 °. More precisely, it is substantially 35 °.

It should be noted that the saddle 15 is mounted by being inserted into a mounting chimney 16. It is the mounting chimney 16 of the saddle 15 which is pivotally mounted on the yoke 6.

By removing the saddle part 15 from the mounting chimney (that is to say the saddle part which comprises the seat), then the seat and support device can fold completely against the main cross member 7, by forming an angle with it close to 0.

The same goes for the front part 8 of the frame pivotally mounted on the second yoke 6: the front part 8 of the frame can adopt a position of use shown in FIG. 1 for example, according to which the front part of the frame is distant from the main sleeper 7.

It can also adopt a folded position, symbolized by the arrow F in FIG. 8 or in FIG. 9, according to which the front part of the frame 8 is brought closer to the main cross-member 7 until the main arm 80 is substantially parallel to the axis of the main cross member 7 (or forms an angle substantially close to 0 with the main cross member 7).

Thus, the ambulatory device according to the invention can bend to form a substantially elongated mass, which extends around the main crosspiece 7.

In the embodiment of the yokes 6 illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5 and 8, the two U-shaped elements 60 and 61 have bottom walls which form an angle C of between substantially 100 ° and 120 °. Preferably, in the example illustrated, the angle C is substantially 110 °.

The yokes 6 may also include a stiffening element 17, shown for example in FIGS. 1 and 8: this stiffening element 17 is a plate substantially in the shape of a triangle, the edges of which bear against the bottom walls 62 and 63 of the elements in U shape 60 and 61.

The stiffening element 17 is perpendicular to the bottom walls 62 and 63. This stiffening element ensures better resistance of the yokes 6 to the weights which are exerted on them when the walker device is used.

It should be understood that the invention is not limited to the specific shape of the yokes 6 illustrated in Figures 1 to 5 and 8. In fact, Figure 9 shows another embodiment of yokes 6.

According to this embodiment, the yokes 6 are produced by two perforated plates 67 in the shape of a triangle.

Each of the two perforated plates 67 is fixed on either side of the main cross member 7 of the frame 2, making the edge of two perforated plates 67 coincide with the lower edge of the main cross member 7. In addition, the two perforated plates are oriented symmetrically on either side of the main cross member 7 and face each other.

A clevis pin 6 is fixed between the two perforated plates fixed to the main cross member 7, and the mounting chimney 16 of the saddle 15 is pivotally mounted around the clevis pin 6.

Reference will now be made to a mode of use of the walking device according to the invention.

Figures 6 and 7 illustrate a walker device 1 according to the invention used by a person 18 to move.

The person 18 shown in Figure 6 is placed astride the saddle 15 by advancing from the rear of the walking device. It will thus be noted that the person does not have to step over the device: the saddle 15 is positioned at a height less than the crotch of the person.

Advantageously, provision is made for the saddle 15 to be positioned at a height of substantially 75 cm.

Also preferably, the handlebar 5 is placed at a height of approximately 105 cm.

Two zones Z1 have been identified by ellipses on either side of the main frame 7: these are the zones where the feet of the person 18 are positioned when he advances the device according to the invention while sitting on saddle 15.

For comfortable use of the device according to the invention, it is expected that these zones Z1 extend over a length E of substantially 53 cm. Thus, the distance which separates the handlebar 5 from the saddle 15 must be between 50 and 60 cm.

The handlebars are also expected to extend over a length D of approximately 55 cm, for user-friendly handling 18.

It could be planned to reduce the length D to approximately 35 cm for a comfortable use of the device 1 by people 18 presenting certain pathologies.

The device according to the invention could also include other elements for even more comfort for users 18: for example, FIG. 10 shows an embodiment according to which the frame 2 comprises a second crosspiece 19.

The second cross member 19 connects the second lower end 70 of the main cross member 7 to a lower end 82 of the front part 8 of the frame, in the vicinity of the two front wheels 3.

This second crosspiece 19 carries footrests 20, allowing the user 18 to position his feet in height if he wishes to be pushed on the walking device.

FIG. 11 presents yet another characteristic of the device according to the invention: the latter can be fitted with a protective casing 21, comprising at least two plates 22 made of polycarbonate (or synthetic glass), positioned on either side other of the main cross member 7, making it possible to protect the yokes 6 and the main cross member 7 in particular. The frame 2 is thus at least partially enclosed between the two plates 22 and constitute parallel walls, fixed on either side of the main cross member 7 of the frame 2.

It should be understood that the plates could be made of materials other than synthetic glass: for example, they could be made of wood.

Thanks to the presence of the yoke 6, ensuring the pivot of the element to which it is fixed and also (and possibly) its removal, the walker device 1 according to the invention can be upgradeable.

Indeed, the yoke 6 makes it possible to fix any kind of support to the main cross-member 7, these supports possibly being in particular saddles 15.

Figures 14 to 17 show alternative embodiments of the device according to the invention:

FIG. 14 shows the walker device 1 equipped with a saddle 15, used as a balance bike by a person 18.

In the context of the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 15, the yoke 6 is fixed to a first support 23 for a nacelle 24 intended to accommodate a young child.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 16, the yoke 6 is fixed to a second support 25 for a chair 26: thus, the walking device can be transformed into a kind of walking chair, in the event of worsening of the disease. a disabled person 30. It will be noted that, in this case, a retaining piece 5 is provided for bearing between the back of the chair 26 and the main cross member 7 to stiffen the back.

According to another exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 17, the yoke 6 is fixed to a third support 28 which carries a basket 29: according to this embodiment, the walker device can be used like a trolley.

It is understood from the foregoing description that the invention allows a person having difficulty moving to regain autonomy.

We also understand how the ingenious realization allows the device to be transformed to give it several uses.

It should however be understood that the invention is not limited to the embodiments specifically described, and that it extends to the implementation of any equivalent means.

Claims (14)

1.
