Amortisseur (1) pour véhicule automobile comprenant : - un cylindre (2) ayant une enveloppe périphérique et deux bases circulaires ; - une première chambre (12) et une seconde chambre (14) contenues dans le cylindre (2) et séparées l'une de l'autre par une paroi ; - un premier piston (30) agissant dans la première chambre (12) sur un premier liquide (36) ; - un conduit inertiel (62), la seconde chambre (14) étant fluidiquement reliée au conduit inertiel (62) ; la paroi comprenant au moins une ouverture (16) pour permettre le passage du premier liquide (36) entre la première chambre (12) et la seconde chambre (14) sous l'action du premier piston (30), la seconde chambre (14) accueillant un second piston (40) mobile sous l'action du premier liquide (36) et agissant sur un second liquide (56) qui est entraîné vers le conduit inertiel (62).
