L'invention porte sur dispositif de démarrage (100) d'un moteur à combustion interne (10), le dispositif de démarrage (100) s'étendant de part et d'autre d'un carter moteur (11) et comprenant une couronne (13) fixée à un bras (16) d'un vilebrequin (12), la couronne (13) ayant un axe (A) confondu ou sensiblement confondu avec l'axe (A') d'un tel vilebrequin (12), un pignon (110) d'axe (B) parallèle ou sensiblement parallèle à l'axe (A) de la couronne (13) engrenant avec la couronne (13), le pignon (110) étant solidaire en rotation d'un arbre (14), un démarreur (200), un arbre de sortie (120) du démarreur (200), accouplé de manière débrayable audit arbre (14) du pignon (110), caractérisé en ce que l'arbre (14) du pignon (110) est monté traversant d'une paroi (15) d'un tel carter moteur (11).
