Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for discharging a fuel pressure in a common fuel injection rail of a heat engine supplied with fuel and being sealed with respect to a return of the fuel from the rail to the tank. When the actual fuel pressure in the common rail is higher by a predetermined calibratable pressure threshold than the setpoint pressure and a request for at least one theoretical main injection of a predetermined theoretical quantity of fuel is issued, the The theoretical main injection is divided into at least two split main injections (INJ1, INJ2) with respective split quantities of fuel, the sum of which is a function of the theoretical quantity of fuel in order to spread the main injection thus divided over time for substantially correspond to the theoretical main injection time.
