TECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In the railway sector, a catenary ensures the electrical supply of the train or the tram.

For maintenance operations, it is of course necessary to cut off the electrical supply at the section of the catenary on which it is desired to intervene.

The invention aims to provide a temporary connection clamp which improves the contact between the clamp and a support to which the clamp is connected even in the presence of high intensity passing through the clamp.

OF THE INVENTION

In order to achieve this goal, a provisional connection clamp is proposed comprising a lower jaw and an upper jaw pivotally mounted on the lower jaw in order to clamp in service a support such as a rail, the lower jaw comprising a plate intended for come to rest under the base of the support and the upper jaw comprising a wheel pivotally mounted on the upper jaw to come to rest under the base of the support.

According to the invention, the plate comprises a plurality of teeth having a height of between 1.3 and 2.2 millimeters.

Surprisingly, it has been found that such a height of the teeth makes it possible to limit a risk of fusion of said teeth in the event of an electric shock, due for example to an accidental re-energization of a section of a catenary that the clamp connection according to the invention aims to secure. In this way, the temporary connection clamp makes it possible to improve the contact between the clamp and the support even in the presence of high intensity.

The height of the teeth is advantageously not too great so that the forceps retain a relatively small volume.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT

PARTICULAR OF THE INVENTION

Referring to Figures 1 and 2, the connection clamp 1 according to a particular embodiment of the invention is here intended to be hung on a rail R. This application is of course not limiting and we can hang the clamp connection 1 to other supports such as for example to a switchgear core.

The connection clamp 1 thus comprises a lower jaw 2 and an upper jaw 3 pivotally mounted on the lower jaw 2 so as to allow the clamping of a base B of the rail R between a first end 4 of the lower jaw 2 and a first end 5 upper jaw

3. The upper jaw 3 is pivotally mounted on the lower jaw 2 around a first pivot 6 of axis X. The first pivot 6 here extends substantially at the center of the upper jaw 3 and of the lower jaw 2.

The upper jaw 3 comprises at its first end 5 a wheel 7 pivotally mounted on the first end 5 of the upper jaw 3 around a second pivot 8 which here extends parallel to the axis X. The wheel 7 typically has a knurled surface to improve its adhesion to the R rail.

The lower jaw 2 also comprises a plate 9 arranged at its first end 4, plate 9 provided with a plurality of teeth 10 (only part of which is referenced). Said teeth 10 thus have a specific height of between 1.3 and 2.2 millimeters. More precisely here, the height of the teeth 10 is between 1.5 and 2 millimeters.

The teeth 10 are all identical here. In particular, the teeth 10 are shaped like a diamond point.

According to a particular aspect, the connection clamp 1 also comprises a clamping member 11 of the two first ends 4, 5 of the jaws 2, 3 one towards the other.

To this end, the clamping member 11 comprises a clamping screw 12 extending between the two jaws 2, 3 at the second ends 13, 14 respective of the jaws 2, 3, ie the ends opposite those 4, 5 respectively carrying the knurled wheel 7 and the plate 9. The tightening member 11 furthermore comprises an operating arm 15 of said screw 12 so that it is easier for an operator to screw or unscrew the screw 12 in order to distance the first two ends 4, 5 of the jaws or bring them together.

According to a preferred embodiment, the clamping member 11 comprises at least one Belleville washer 16 arranged on the screw 12 between the two second ends 4, 5 of the two jaws 2, 3. Typically the clamping member 11 comprises between 2 and 8 Belleville washers (only one being referenced here) and for example six Belleville washers.

AT this effect , the opinion 12 behaves a seat 17 arranged at level of the part of screw 12 located between both second ends 13, 14. The washers of

Belleville 16 thus rests on said seat 17. The lower jaw 2 correspondingly comprises an orifice 18 formed in the lower jaw 2 to receive said seat 17 when the screw 12 is completely screwed and that the first two ends 4, 5 are in a position where they are furthest from each other.

Furthermore, the screw 12 has a stop 19 arranged directly above the series of Belleville washers 16 on the portion of the screw 12 located between the two second ends 13, 14. The tightening member 11 is thus shaped so that the stop 19 permanently presses a corresponding surface of the second end 14 of the upper jaw 3 under the action of the Belleville washers 16.

The clamping member 11 is thus shaped so that the Belleville washers 16 are prestressed so as to tend to bring the two jaws 2, 3 closer to their first ends 4, 5.

Thus, even if the teeth 10 were to merge due to an electric shock, the stacking of the Belleville washers 16 would limit a risk of detachment of the lower jaw 2 of the rail R by keeping the first two ends 4, 5 pressed together. in the direction of the other and therefore keeping pressed the first two ends 4, 5 on the base B of the rail R.

In service, the connection clamp 1 is in the open position (as illustrated in FIG. 1) with the seat 17 in place in the corresponding orifice 18 of the lower jaw 2 and the first ends 4, 5 separated by one 1 ' other.

The operator then places the clamp 1 around the base B so as to surround the base B between the first two ends 3, 4.

The operator then unscrews the screw 12 with the help of the operating arm 15 until the base B is pressed between the first two ends 4, 5 (as visible in FIG. 3). This causes the base B to be clamped between the two jaws 2, 3 so that the thumb wheel 7 rests on top of the base B and the plate 9 rests against the bottom of the base B.

Thus pinched by the connection clamp 1, the base B is made integral with the connection clamp 1 temporarily until the screw 12 is screwed.

Advantageously, the various Belleville washers 16 also press plate 9 and wheel 7 against each other. This makes it possible to protect the operator even further in the event of a particularly significant accidental refeeding which would even cause the teeth 10 to merge. The teeth 10 are moreover already dimensioned to limit such a risk and thus resist intensities which may range up to 72 kilo-amps, 40 milliseconds.

The invention is not limited to what has just been described but on the contrary encompasses any variant coming within the scope defined by the claims.

Thus, the clamp may include other elements than what has been described as a hook connected to the lower jaw and intended to extend under the base of the support to grip at its free end the other side of the base of the support.

Although here the spring element comprises Belleville washers, the spring element may include other members such as for example a spring.

Clamp (1) of temporary connection comprising a lower jaw ( 2) and a top jaw ( 3) pivotally mounted on the lower jaw to clamp in service a support such as a rail, the lower jaw comprising a plate (9) intended to come to rest under a base of the support and the upper jaw comprising a knob (7) pivotally mounted on the upper jaw to come to rest under the base of the support, the clamp being characterized in that it comprises a plurality of teeth (10) presenting a height between 1.3 and 2.2 millimeters • 2.
