Description
The present invention relates to a floating support system for a set of solar panels with at least a number of rows of solar panels arranged next to each other, comprising a floating structure and a support structure fixed on this structure floating, which is intended to support the set of solar panels. The present invention particularly relates to a floating support system which is intended for placement on a body of water, such as a lake, a retention basin or drinking water tanks. The present invention further relates to an installation of solar panels erected on such floating support systems.
In recent years, a large number of solar installations have been placed, for which a quantity of solar panels (such as for example photovoltaic panels, reflectors, lenses or other optical means) have been placed on a structure underlying support. Current solar installations are most often land-based buildings or constructions on roofs of private homes or industrial buildings. However, in many countries, the terrain is scarce and there are fewer and fewer roofs available, which has made it necessary to look for other solutions in order to be able to place solar installations.
Un tel système est décrit par exemple dans la publication de brevet américain US 2008/0029148.One of the ideas is to place solar installations on the water. On the one hand because there is a lot of water available and on the other because the placement of solar panels on the water has a number of advantages, such as better cooling and therefore better performance electric. For this purpose, several solutions have been developed in the past in which use is made of floating elements extending in length, on which a support structure for solar panels is then mounted. Such a system is described for example in US patent publication US 2008/0029148.
It has, however, become apparent that the systems heretofore known for placing solar panels on water often have a complex structure and are therefore expensive and furthermore are difficult to maintain because their components, or the solar panels themselves, are difficult to access.
The present invention therefore aims to provide a floating support system for solar panels, which is simple to build, which has an attractive cost and easy to maintain.
The object of the invention is achieved by providing a floating support system for a set of solar panels comprising at least a number of rows of solar panels placed next to each other, comprising a floating structure and a structure bracket fixed to said floating structure, which is provided to support the solar array assembly, wherein the floating structure comprises at least two floating profiles extending in the length direction, which form a bridge between the rows of panels solar.
By using floating profiles that on the one hand provide sufficient buoyancy so that the whole continues to float on the water and on the other hand create a bridge between the different rows of solar panels placed next to each other a support system is constructed which is simple in construction and further allows the panels (or other parts) to be easily accessible for maintenance and repair work.
Each row consists of several solar panels juxtaposed, the solar panels are preferably fixed in portrait position on the underlying support structure. The advantage of the portrait position is that the panels are better cleaned by the precipitation and therefore have a lower dust deposition charge, which is a drawback in terms of performance. An additional advantage of the portrait position is that the distance between the water and the diode box of the panel is greater than in the landscape position, which is beneficial for electrical safety and proper operation. It goes without saying that the panels can also be fixed in the landscape position on the support structure.
In a preferred embodiment of the support system according to the present invention, said floating profiles have a closed hollow interior space. Preferably, the floating profiles have a double-layer envelope. Floating sections are preferably made of plastic, such as polyethylene, polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride. Due to their composition, the profiles have the necessary flexibility to prevent damage during installation or use. This flexibility also ensures that the construction can to a limited extent accompany the swell of water, so that it does not create constraints in the structure. Similarly, the profiles are of sufficiently stable shape and are sufficiently rigid, such that they do not deform when walking on them.
In a particular preferred embodiment, the upper plane of the floating sections forms said bridge and the upper plane has a width which is between 10 cm and 80 cm. The double-layer plastic casing is manufactured by simultaneous extrusion on the inner and outer sides. The two layers are attached to each other by heating during a continuous process.
In a more preferred embodiment of the support system according to the present invention, the floating profiles are box-shaped profiles. The floating profiles have in particular a diameter of between 100 and 800 mm and a length of between 2 and 15 meters. Normally, the profiles have a round cross-section, but alternative embodiments, such as a polygonal cross-section, are also possible.
According to a particular embodiment, the floating profiles have a ribbed profile on their outer side. Such a ribbed profile ensures better grip and better rigidity of the profile.
In a more particular embodiment of the floating support system according to the invention, the support structure comprises a plurality of support profiles extending transversely on the floating profiles and a plurality of support elements fixed on these support profiles, which are provided for the support and the holding in inclined position of a solar panel. The support profiles are preferably made of aluminum, stainless steel or are coated with zinc. In a more preferred embodiment, they are made of extruded aluminum. The support profiles are preferably U-shaped, H-shaped or box-shaped.
The support members are preferably made from a folded flat bar made of aluminum, stainless steel or galvanized steel. Support elements of different lengths can be chosen, which makes it easy to adapt the degree of inclination of the solar panels. In addition, the support elements can be placed in such a way that the panels can be mounted in an East-West run on the floating profiles.
In an advantageous embodiment of the support system according to the invention, the support structure is connected to the floating sections by means of stirrup elements. These stirrup elements are preferably made of stainless steel, galvanized steel or aluminum.
According to a more advantageous embodiment of the support system according to the present invention, the support structure further comprises elastic coupling elements, for example made of rubber, for connecting a plurality of support systems to one another. These coupling elements are fixed in a first direction between the support elements and in the other direction in a more advantageous embodiment, fixed between the lower beams of the two panel beams. Preferably, "Silent" rubber elastic blocks are used.
In a very particular embodiment, the support system includes one or more anchoring elements to anchor the support system. Preferably, the support system is anchored to the bottom or against the shore of the body of water on which the support system floats. The anchor is designed for each project, but it consists mainly of a series of cables or ropes that must maintain the system in its place. It is also possible to provide the system with so-called floating anchoring elements. These consist of a web that is looped around one or more floating profile (s) and hangs in the water. The water between the canvas and the surface of the water acts as a ballast (anchor) for the system. Short pulses to which the system is subjected are thus damped in a very simple way. The anchoring system may further be designed such that the entire floating system is oriented during the day towards the sun to obtain a higher efficiency due to better direct irradiation.
Another object of the present invention relates to a solar installation comprising several floating support systems of the type described above connected to one another.
In order to better explain the properties of the present invention and to indicate advantages and additional details thereof, the following is a more detailed description of the floating support system according to the present invention. The floating profiles (4) are made of plastic material such as polyethylene, polypropylene or PVC, and have a hollow interior space that can be or is closed. The envelope of the profiles (4) may possibly consist of several, preferably two, layers. Due to their composition, the profiles have the necessary flexibility to prevent damage during installation or use. This flexibility also allows the construction to be able to a limited extent to accompany the swell movements of the water, so that they do not create constraints in the structure. Similarly, the profiles are of sufficiently stable shape and are sufficiently rigid, such that they do not deform when walking on them.
The floating profiles (4) are normally 2 to 15 meters long and most of the time have a round or polygonal cross section. In Figure 9, a few possible embodiments have been shown. The diameter of the profiles or the width of the upper plane must of course be sufficiently large (e) (or wide), so that the user can travel safely on the profiles (4). In practice, the diameter or the width of the upper plane is most often between 100 and 800 mm. To provide a better grip, the floating profiles can also be equipped on their outside with a ribbed profile.
As shown inter alia by Figures 1 and 2, the support structure (3) consists of a plurality of support profiles (5) extending transversely to the floating profiles (4). These support profiles (5) are preferably made of aluminum, extruded aluminum, stainless steel or are coated with zinc. The support profiles are preferably U-shaped, H-shaped or box-shaped sections. The floating profiles (4) are connected to the support profiles (5) by means of stirrup elements (7).
Support elements (6) are mounted on the support profiles (5), as can be clearly seen in particular in Figures 5, 6 and 8. This assembly can be achieved by means of a bolted connection. The supporting elements (6) are provided for supporting and maintaining in inclined position a solar panel (2). In practice, one works with two sets of support elements (6), which are placed at a distance from one another. In this way, the support elements (6) of the first series are shorter in length than the support elements of the second series, so that it is possible to easily adjust the degree of inclination of the panels. Normally, but not limited to, the panels (2) are placed at an inclination of 12 °, 15 ° or 18 °, depending on the location (width) of the project.
The support members (6) are preferably made from a flat bar made of aluminum, stainless steel or galvanized steel, which is bent to the desired shape.
Above the support elements (6) and in a direction perpendicular to the support profiles (5) are then two panel beams (9) per row of panels (2). These beams (9) are also profiles made of aluminum, stainless steel or galvanized steel. The panels (2) are mounted sufficiently tightly next to each other on or in these beams (9). Only a little more space should be kept between the different support systems (1) (so that adjacent support system panels do not collide with one another due to the swell of the water). In this way, the water surface that is required by installed power is limited. This is the opposite of alternative solutions where all the panels move mutually relative to each other and where it is necessary to provide each time more space.
The support system (1) according to the present invention is, as is apparent from the above description, made up of several components that can be easily assembled to one another, which allows the system to be mounted and placed in a few steps. time.
The floating support system (1) according to the present invention may well be considered as a modular system. To this end, there are, as can clearly be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4, coupling elements (8), which make it possible to connect to one another several support systems (1) constructed according to FIG. present invention. The coupling elements (8) are preferably placed at the level of the end of a support profile (5) or of the panel beam (9). Figures 7 and 10 to 13 show some possible embodiments of a solar installation (11) consisting of several support systems (1) according to the invention which are (or can be) coupled to each other. Such an installation can then be anchored to a bank or the bottom by means of one or more anchoring elements (10). The anchorage may be different for each project, but it is essentially a series of cables or ropes that must maintain the system in its place. One can also, as shown in Figure 14, choose to provide on the system so-called floating anchors (10). These consist of a fabric that is looped around one or more floating profiles (4) and hangs in the water. The water between the canvas and the surface of the water acts as a ballast (anchor) for the system.
