Abstract
Lorsque le pratiquant (3) se détache, le «charriot amortisseur» (4) reprend sa place sous l'effet du poids du « leste de freinage » (13).The present invention relates to a device for damping and progressive braking of a zipline practitioner when the latter arrives at high speed at the bottom of the latter, suspended from the pulley. The device consists mainly of a "shock absorber carriage" (4) freely circulating on the cable (1) of a zip line and retained by its front part by means of a "retaining cable" (7), said "cable retainer "(7) being weighted at its other end by a" braking weight "(13) consisting of a plurality of" weighting chain "(8) attached to a" ballast fastener "(9), after having passed around two pulleys including a "return pulley" (5) and a "ballast pulley" (6). Thus, when the practitioner (3) arrives, the "transport pulley" (11) to which it is suspended collides with the "shock absorber" (4) and moves it towards the shaft (10) or support of arrival of the Tyrolean up the "braking weight" (13) and thus curbing its movement. When the practitioner (3) comes off, the "damping carriage" (4) resumes its place under the effect of the weight of "braking weight" (13).
Description
DISPOSITIF DE FREINAGE PROGRESSIF D’UNE CHARGE SUR TYROLIENNE, REGLABLE SELON LE POIDS DE LA CHARGE TRANSPORTEE.DEVICE FOR THE PROGRESSIVE BRAKING OF A TYROLIAN LOAD, ADJUSTABLE ACCORDING TO THE WEIGHT OF THE TRANSPORTED LOAD.
The zip line is a system for transporting or moving one or more loads on a rope, used for crossing overhead a vertical obstacle such as for example a wide ditch filled with water, a natural or artificial basin, a groove or any other obstacle difficult to reach by other means.
It generally consists of a preferably metallic cable stretched and fixed on either side of the obstacle to be crossed, so as to generate more often a slope sufficient to cause gravity displacement of the load, the most up to the lowest point.
The zipline course depends on the objective and the planned equipment. The name of this mode of displacement of load is probably due to its origin, the Tyrol being a very rugged alpine region located mainly in Austria and Italy where the device was used more commonly than elsewhere there are many years.
The creation of acrobatic leisure parks since the 1930s in the Italian Dolomites has seen the orientation of this mode of transport of various loads, towards the general public to cross in an aerial and obviously sporting way a precipice separating two rocky peaks or a gorge at the bottom of which winds a stream.
Thus, today we consider that a zip line can have several uses, for example; Physical training for individuals but also for emergency services, the army and all the intervention services in the countryside, in the mountains or in the cities, obstacle clearance activity such as spelunking , mountaineering etc., the leisure activity for people seeking thrills (forest trails, canopy crossing etc.), a means of economic transportation for the poor, a means of escape for victims isolated by a natural disaster etc.
Whatever the application, the zip line can use a simple carabiner running on a cable or have a pulley to facilitate and accelerate the progression.
A PAH is a recreation area most often located in wooded area, equipped with facilities allowing the practitioner to circulate in height acrobatically between two trees or artificial supports. Spread more quickly from the 2000s, this new leisure has to date more than five hundred structures on the national territory.
Ziplines on pulleys, slopes and variable lengths are very frequently used on the courses of these spaces frequented by people of all ages.
Two types of ziplines are more commonly used in the courses offered to the public: Rising Tyrolean and Tyrolean Downhill.
The present invention is directed primarily to this last type of zip lines, the descending zip lines.
Indeed, the circulation by this kind of tyrolienne on pulleys makes use of sensations without efforts much more appreciated by the majority of the users. However, the reception on arrival is sometimes tricky.
It is carried out either by a handle attached to the tree trunk, itself padded to avoid a violent shock, or by a carpet, a ball of sand or a net of reception, to see an elastic of the Sandows type pulling the passenger towards the back that it will have to span thereafter. Other parks recommend holding the handle attached to the top of the base of the pulley throughout the course to avoid failing to catch the handle arrival and / or turn and violently hit the tree with the back.
These disadvantages are obviously amplified when the zip line has a slope greater than 30 ° (Taggle rope or Death-ride) and is used with pulleys or even carabiner. The author of the present invention has devised a means for solving in all simplicity the conditions of arrival of a practitioner at the end and at the bottom of a zip line by constituting a progressive brake capable of substantially and smoothly slowing the moving the practitioner before it reaches the tree or the support of said zip line. The invention therefore consists in placing on the cable of the zip line, a trolley called "damping trolley" freely moving on said cable and kept in position at a distance from the shaft or support of arrival by a game of at least two pulleys, one of which is called "return pulley" and the other "ballast weight", on which circulates a cable called "retaining cable", one end of which is fixed to the front of the "shock absorber" and the opposite end is preferably attached to a carabiner-type attachment device said "ballast attachment" to receive a scalable said weight "braking weight" such as a plurality of metal chains called "weighting chain" of various sizes and lengths and variables according to the weight of the desired "braking weights".
Advantageously, the "braking weight" is composed of an association of ballast weights, in particular "weighting chains" including a chain called "master chain" on which a plurality of chains called "auxiliary chain" are hooked to the means of fast fasteners (carabiners), so that they constitute a progressivity of weight allowing to cushion the arrival of practitioners of different weights. For example, the "master chain" is devoid of "auxiliary chain" on a defined length, before receiving "auxiliary chain" judiciously placed at specified distances between the one and the other, the entire "braking weight" "Resting on the ground when the device is inactive.
Thus, when the pulley of the zip line that supports the practitioner, hereinafter referred to as "transport pulley" arrives at the bottom of its course, it comes into contact with the "damping carriage" which is free in its movements, moves towards the shaft or the arrival support by pulling on the "retaining cable" which, by means of the "ballast pulley" and the "return pulley", vertically raises the "braking weight", progressively slowing down the movement of the practicing.
According to the weight of the rider and consecutively according to his speed of arrival, the lifting of the "braking weight" concerns first and foremost the "master chain" and gradually and according to the weight of the practitioner, the "auxiliary chain" which will be recorded as and as the "shock truck" progresses. A low weight practitioner such as a child will have his or her arrival cushioned by lifting the only "master chain", a heavier practitioner will raise the "master chain" and the first "auxiliary chain" and a weight practitioner still higher will cause the lifting of the "master chain" and all the "auxiliary chain" resting on the ground.
The weight of the "braking weight" consisting of a plurality of "weighting chain" including a "main chain" and "auxiliary chain" of variable size and length, is determined according to the desired braking, for example by moving, removing or adding one or more "auxiliary chain" to specific locations in the "master chain" constituting the "weighting chain" of the "braking weight" of the device.

According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the "damping carriage" is disposed at a determined distance from the shaft or support of arrival of a zip line between, on the one hand, the "return pulley" placed on the above him and the "ballast pulley" placed above and behind him on the tree or support of arrival. The "restraining cable" is attached in front of the "shock absorber", passes around the "return pulley" and then around the "ballast pulley", its free end being attached to the "braking weight" by means of the "loose attachment". Thus, when the practitioner arrives at high speed at the bottom of the zip line suspended on the "transport pulley", he has no intervention to make to stop. The "transport pulley" collides with the "shock absorber" and under the effect of the speed moves it towards the shaft or support of arrival. While moving towards the shaft or support of arrival, the "damping carriage" pulls on the "retaining cable" which turns around the "pulley of return" and leaning around the "ballast pulley", relieves vertically and progressively the "braking weight" progressively damping the movement of the approved practitioner regardless of weight. The "braking weight" is progressive and adjusted by moving, adding or removing one or more "weighting chains" so that the "damper" does not cause a violent shock if it touches the shaft or the arrival support. Once the practitioner unhooked from the "transport pulley" of the zip line, the weight of the brakes descends by gravity and the "damper damper" returns to its original position on the cable of the zip line.
According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the "braking weight" consists of a plurality of "weighting chain" preferably attached by means of a "ballast fastener" at the free end of the "retaining cable". ", Including a" master chain "preferably metal of determined length, the links of which are hooked according to various and determined positions, a plurality of" auxiliary chain ", so that the weight of the" braking weight "to rising is gradually increasing as the "damping carriage" approaches the shaft or support of arrival.
