Description
Such a cuff is intended to be worn by a user before, during and after a workout. It is composed of a plurality of holding and protecting areas to maintain the muscles of the arm and forearm and support the elbow and tendons to prevent further injury. "Tennis Elbow" is the common name for frequent inflammation of tendons in the outer part of the elbow, also known as "lateral epicondylitis". The "Golfer's Elbow" is the common name describing a frequent inflammation of the tendons of the inner part of the elbow also called "medial epicondylitis". The "Tricep tendonitis" and the common name describe inflammation of the tendon that connects triceps muscles to the back of the elbow. The pain of a lateral and medial epicondylitis, feels at the level of the ligaments and nerves that pass through the elbow, and the pain "triceps tendonitis" feels at the top of the back of the elbow and arm. Pains are due to vibration, repetitive shocks, fatigue, overuse of extremities, poor circulation. This is why, among other things, there is the strapping (cohesive band of contention, often adhesive) which is a device aiming to limit the harmful movements and which is made with bands of sticky contentions. Strapping has a limited capacity for restraint and requires equipment and external assistance for installation. The strapping may not be tight enough and is inefficient in its function. It may be too tight and restrictive for freedom of movement with a significant risk of "tourniquet" serving its function of prevention, post-traumatic recovery and improvement of blood circulation. On the other hand there are only arm cuffs to protect themselves from the cold and improve blood circulation.
The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks by providing a multifunctional cuff comprising a maintenance of the elbow and sheathing of the tendons thereof, and a maintenance of the muscles of the arm and of the forearm and a compression to facilitate venous return, which does not involve an excess of uncomfortable material on these parts and can be worn both preventively and post-traumatically. The cuff is composed of reinforcements covering the muscles of the arm and forearm for a strapping effect and reinforcements of sheathing along the tendons of the elbow. These reinforcements will limit the dangerous movement for the injury considered at the elbow. The invention preserves movement, reduces inflammation and increases the circulation of a less vascularized area, which prevents cramps and toxin accumulation by improving muscle oxygenation. The entire cuff absorbs shock and vibration on the muscles, veins and joints without restricting comfort and freedom of movement. The cuff is composed of an elastic knit which exerts a homogeneous compression on the arm and the forearm and favors the longitudinal action of the muscles. The sleeve for holding and compressing the elbow joint comprises a first zone (1) which generates a first level of compression, a second zone (2) consisting of compression bands of greater level than the first zone (1). intended to be applied along the outer and inner tendons of the elbow, a third zone (3) consisting of crossed bands of greater level compression than the first zone (1) intended to be applied on the tip of the elbow, and a fourth zone (4) consisting of compression bands intended to be applied along the triceps muscle of the arm at the rear level of the cuff. The cuff, has a second zone composed of bands having a knitting of fibers to the square centimeter greater than the zone (1) and forming a sheath which start at the high base of the biceps, along the inner and outer tendons of the elbow until at the end of the tendons at the internal base of the wrist. The cuff is composed of 3 zones including a first zone (1) of compression, a second zone (2) able to apply a compression greater than the compression of the zone (1), a third zone (3) able to apply a cross-tension on the elbow joint, and a fourth zone (4) able to apply a compression greater than the compression of the zone (1).
The cuff has a third zone (3) consisting of crossed strips adapted to apply an extension on the elbow joint which start on the back tip of the elbow to the insertion of the elbow and triceps muscle and the insertion of the elbow and muscle of the forearm. The cuff includes a fourth zone (4) composed of compression bands from the insertion of the elbow and triceps muscle to the upper base of the triceps.
70All the areas of the cuff are knitted from extensible and compressive materials integral with each other. The dimensions of the cuff, are adapted to the morphology of the user by giving various sizes to it. When the cuff is threaded, the extensible compression elements of the cuff provide a firm hold through a strong compression of the extensible fabric constituting the cuff. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 represents a rear view of the cuff positioned on the tip of the elbow. Figure 2 shows a front view of the sleeve placed in the fold of the elbow. Figure 3 shows a side view of the sleeve. 70
