Comme il peut être déplacé et rangé, il ne remet pas en cause l'esthétique de la porte de manière définitive. Le dispositif appelé « bloque porte de sécurité » s'oppose au mouvement d'ouverture des portes en ce qu'il est constitué d'une canne munie d'un socle ou patin à sa base et d'un berceau d'accueil de la poignée de porte à son extrémité haute.
