Description

The invention relates to the field of hulls for handheld terminals, smartphones, portable consoles and similar devices that are capable of being connected to the Internet. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The invention will be more particularly described with regard to a mobile phone capable of being connected to the Internet type ordiphone, commonly called in the language popularized by anglicism "smartphone". However, the invention is not limited thereto and applies to any device capable of being connected to the Internet without necessarily having the telephone function, such as tablets of large format or not, or miniaturized devices of the iPod touch® type.

A cell phone is often associated with a hull to protect it. The shell covers the back of the device and its peripheral edge. It can be made of plastic, preferably silicone which is a flexible, thin, lightweight and resistant material.

Recently, it is proposed hulls that incorporate certain features via the combination of batteries, lighting systems or connection socket type USB. The phone serves only as a communication interface between the Internet and the shell. It is currently more convenient that the connection support with Internet is the telephone. Also, when the USB ports or generally the connection and transmission systems of the smartphone do not allow the smartphone to communicate with both the hull and the computer, the inventors have put forward the very advantageous solution following, the smartphone remaining housed in the shell and connected thereto while allowing either synchronization or communication with the shell: the electronic means 5 of the shell comprise detection means able to detect the connection of a USB cable to the socket 7 connection of the hull, and means of interruption of the current and transmission of data to the hull. More specifically, the operation is the following with reference to the schematic figures 9 and 10: - When only cooperate the 1B and the 1 shell, the connection means 6 of the shell are connected to the 1B and 1P connected on the other hand connected to the microcontroller 50. - A switch 51 forming part of the electronic means 5 is placed between the microcontroller 50 and on the one hand the connector 6 of the shell connected to the smartphone 1B and on the other hand the USB connector 7 intended for the external connection of a cable. By default, the switch 51 leaves connected the lines between the microcontroller 50 and the connector 6 connected to the smartphone 1B. The switch 51 is controlled by the microcontroller 50. The microcontroller 50 of the electronic means 5 of the shell analyzes directly cyclically the difference in voltage between the VBus supply line and the ground of the USB connector 7. - The microcontroller 50 is furthermore able to detect the presence of a signal on the data lines D + / D- of the USB connector 7. In indeed, in a known manner, the state of the data lines D + / D- differs according to whether the inserted USB cable (in the USB connector 7) is connected to a computer or to a mains wall charger. - When inserting a USB 1E cable in the socket of the USB connector 7 of the shell, the microcontroller 50 detects a high level (5V on the VBus voltage), that is to say detects that a connection is made to the socket 7, and initiates the phase of detection of the state of data lines D + / D- of said USB connector 7. - If the microcontroller 50 detects a connection to a wall charger, the switch 51 is not not engaged (configuration of the diagram of Figure 9), the lines of the connector 6 remain connected to the microcontroller 50; the communication between the smartphone 1B and the microcontroller 50 of the hull remains established, the alert means 3 can be triggered at any time, and the electric charging of the smartphone and the battery of the hull can take place. If the microcontroller 50 detects that the USB cable 1 E is connected to a computer, it then controls the switch 51 which switches position (FIG. 10) in order to cut the communication between the smartphone 1B and the microcontroller 50, and redirects the lines from connector 6 to connector 7; there may be synchronization between the smartphone and the computer.

When the cable 1E is removed from the USB connector 7 of the shell, the microcontroller 50 detects a low level on the VBUS power line of the connector 7, and depending on the cable that was connected, rebasculera or leave the state of the switch 51.

Thus, when a communication between the smartphone 1B and the shell 1 could continue (link between 1 B, 6 and 50), the cable that was connected being connected to a usual power distribution socket, the switch 51 does not had not been tilted (Figure 9). At disconnection of the cable, the switch 51 remains in the state, the microcontroller continues communication, and disconnects only the power of the battery. When the cable 1E was connected to the computer, there was no communication between the smartphone 1B and the microcontroller 50 of the shell and the shell was only a transparent interface between the smartphone and the USB cable 1E (Figure 10); once the cable 1E disconnected, the microcontroller rebut switch 51 to reconnect (Figure 9) the connector 6 and the microcontroller 50 to resume the dialogue between the microcontroller and the smartphone.

Therefore, the applicant proposes in an innovative way a shell for a portable terminal, especially for smartphone, interactive communication with the Internet and generating a warning signal, for example by lighting up, upon receipt of a message sent over the Internet.

Claims (13)

  1. REVENDICATIONS1. Hull-type envelope device intended to receive a portable terminal, the device comprising alert means (3), electronic means (5) able to control the warning means, connection means (6) suitable for provide at least an electrical connection between the device and the terminal, characterized in that the electronic means (5) are able to communicate with the Internet, and control the alert means (3) in response to a message received via the Internet.
  2. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the electronic means (5) are able to communicate with the Internet via the connection means (6) which are capable of transmitting computer data, preferably being of the USB type.
  3. 3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the alert means (3) comprise lighting means and / or means for displaying information.

Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the alert means comprises lighting means which are capable of illuminating different colors, each color corresponding to a specific event that triggered the message received by the Internet. , preferably lighting means comprising at least one LED, in particular LEDs of the RGB type.
  5. 5. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises a control means (4), of the miniaturized push button type, connected to the electronic means (5) for sending a message on Internet from the device.
  6. 6. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it has an identifier of its own and integrated with the electronic means.
  7. 7. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises a battery (2) for supplying the alert means (3), such as the lighting means, and incidentally providing the terminal an auxiliary battery.

Device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that it comprises a body having at least one bottom having an inner face (10) and an outer face (11), the inner face being intended to be associated with the terminal while the outer face is intended to be facing the external environment, the alert means (3), the electronic means (5), and the battery (2) are associated with the bottom of the shell being enclosed between the inner face (10) and the outer face (11).
  9. 9. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises an outer face (11) to which are associated the alert means (3), in particular of the type of lighting means, the outer face comprising a diffusing material capable of diffusing light.

Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it has a body made of a flexible material, preferably plastic material such as silicone, and in that the body is monobloc or composed of several parts movably or removably associated, such as by a clipping system, hinge or pivoting.

Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the electronic means (5) are able to detect, the connection of an external cable to the device and the type of cable connected, such as a cable for the connection to a computer or electrical network, and in that the electronic means (5) comprise means of interruption (51) of the switching means type, able to interrupt the connection with the Internet, in particular able to interrupt the connection between said electronic means (5) and the connection means (6).

Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is used while being associated with a computer application controlling the alert means (3) of said device, the computer application can be integrated into the portable terminal for to be housed in the device, or installed on a remote server, the control of the alert means being a response to a trigger event sent over the Internet.

An assembly comprising a device according to any one of the preceding claims, a portable terminator housed in the device and provided with an Internet connection, the portable terminator having its electrical connection socket and synchronization cooperating with each other, such as by plugging, with the connection means (6) of the device, said connection means being able to ensure the communication of data between the electronic means of the device and the Internet connection of the terminal.
