Description
OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates generally to a dashboard for a motor vehicle, equipped with a touch screen with a digital display. It relates more particularly to such a dashboard for a cabriolet-type vehicle, intended to park regularly outside in an open configuration (without hood).
In recent years have been marked by the emergence of touch screens in many areas of everyday life. In the automotive industry, this revolution has resulted in particular in the dashboard of vehicles that integrate more and more a digital display screen comprising a touch control surface. This allows the user, and especially the driver, to navigate in a menu tree giving access to the control of many devices of the vehicle such as navigation modules, ventilation / air conditioning, telecommunication, audio systems and multimedia, driver assistance, or connectivity to the outside of the vehicle. Such a tactile interface, described for example in the French application FR 2,969,780, thus eliminates conventional control facades with many buttons under the dashboard of the vehicle, while maintaining a wealth of automotive features, and without as long as the driver's gaze is too distracted or too diverted from the road on which the vehicle he drives drives. However, because of their insufficient sealing, these touch screens are not yet integrated in the motor vehicles of the cabriolet type, intended to park regularly outside in their open configuration (without hood) where they can be exposed to projections. water and heavy dust during severe weather or in strong winds. As a result, users of this type of vehicle are forced to use touch-sensitive devices such as Smartphone-type mobile phones or personal navigation assistants (PNDs) that are temporarily mounted on the windshield or switchboard. edge of the vehicle with a support provided with a fastener. These devices reported, possibly inserted into a sealed transparent pouch, allow the user to access a few limited functions such as telephony, audio and multimedia or navigation. However, and because they are not connected to the centralized electronic management module of the vehicle, the latter do not make it possible to manage the operation of the vehicle's internal systems such as air conditioning or central locking of the doors. On the other hand, these external devices tend to affect the aesthetics of the passenger compartment of the vehicle, especially since they must often be connected, during long journeys and in order to compensate for insufficient autonomy, to take Cigarette lighter from the vehicle via a particularly unsightly power cable. OBJECT AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention therefore aims to propose a solution for sealingly integrating such a touch screen on the dashboard of a motor vehicle. It proposes for this purpose, a dashboard for a motor vehicle adapted to be mounted on a dashboard crossbar stowed to a tubular upright before the metal frame of a said motor vehicle, and extending over the entire width of this vehicle above the feet of the driver and the front passenger, characterized in that it comprises a window covered on the inner side of a transparent and hydrophobic film, the peripheral edge of said film being sealingly attached to the entire periphery said window, the dimensions of said window being predetermined to correspond to the display surface of a touch screen integral with said cross member and intended to be pressed against the inner face of said film during assembly of said dashboard on said crosses.
Due to the presence of this hydrophobic transparent film and sealingly sealed around the window, the dashboard according to the invention allows the integration of a "conventional" (non-sealed) touch screen in a vehicle of Convertible type designed to park regularly outdoors in an open configuration where it is exposed to splashing water and heavy dust during severe weather or in strong winds. The vehicle manufacturer is therefore not forced to develop a specific waterproof screen whose production cost would be prohibitive. It is instead free to use a screen reference already present in the catalog and mounted on other models of the brand's vehicle, resulting in significant economies of scale by volume effect. According to preferred features of the dashboard according to the invention, taken alone or in combination: - sealingly fixing the peripheral edge of said film on the periphery of said window is provided by means of a bonding joint and sealing; the peripheral rim delimiting said window is curved so that it points inwards toward said film; said film is rigid, said seal being interposed between said peripheral rim and the peripheral edge of said rigid film over its entire circumference; said gasket has a cross section comprising a first portion oriented perpendicular to said rigid film and surrounding said peripheral flange, as well as a second portion oriented perpendicularly to said first portion and which surrounds the peripheral edge of said rigid film; said film is flexible, the latter being furthermore fixed to an attachment wall situated slightly recessed from said peripheral rim and so as to remain slightly distended in the absence of external stresses, its energization being effected by a force stress exerted on him by a said touch screen during assembly of said dashboard on said cross; said sealing and sealing gasket is made of an elastomeric material of silicone type; and / or - said film is made of a non-electrically insulating material, so that the latter can be compatible with the use of a capacitive-type touch screen.
The invention also aims, in a second aspect, a motor vehicle of the cabriolet type comprising such a dashboard, mounted on a said dashboard crossbar stowed to a tubular upright before its metal frame, and extending over any its width above the feet of the driver and front passenger.
According to preferred characteristics of the motor vehicle, the latter comprises a said touch screen mounted on said dashboard cross member via a support frame. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The description of the invention will now be continued by the detailed description of an exemplary embodiment, given below by way of illustration but without limitation, with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. a perspective view of a motor vehicle board according to a first preferred embodiment of the invention; - Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the dashboard of Figure 1 after mounting on the dashboard cross member of a motor vehicle; Figure 3 is an enlargement of Detail III of Figure 2; - Figure 4 is a view similar to Figure 2 of a dashboard according to a second embodiment of the invention after mounting on the dashboard cross member of a motor vehicle; and - Figure 5 is an enlargement of detail V of Figure 4.
OF ONE EMBODIMENT FIG. 1 represents a dashboard 1 according to a preferred embodiment of the invention. The central and lateral portions of this dashboard 1 also include a plurality of outlet openings 5 for ventilators of the ventilation / air conditioning module ensuring the renewal of the air inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Above the openings 5 located in the central part, the dashboard 1 has a rectangular window 6 covered on the inner side with a rigid film, transparent and hydrophobic 7. The film 7 whose thickness is for example between 0.1 and 0.5 mm , is made from a thermoplastic polymer preferably coated with a thin layer of indium tin oxide (ITO). The dimensions of the window 6 are predetermined to correspond to the display surface of a touch screen 8 integral with the dashboard crossbar 2 and intended to be pressed against the inner face of the film 7 during assembly of the board on this crossbar (Figure 2). Note that the film 7 is non-electrically insulating, so that the latter can be compatible with the capacitive type touch screens based on the detection of the transfer of electric charge operating towards the finger of the user from the zone of the screen 8 with which he is in contact. This touch screen 8 which is connected to the centralized electronic management module of the vehicle, serves as a control interface for many vehicle devices such as navigation modules, ventilation / air conditioning, telecommunications, audio and multimedia systems, or help with driving. It allows the entry of a command by moving one of the fingers of the driver (or front passenger) on his display surface. It is also powered by a 12V power harness connected to the vehicle's internal battery. The inner face of the screen 8 is mounted on the dashboard cross member 2 via a support frame 9. More precisely and as illustrated in FIG. 2, the upper portion 9A of the frame 9 is fitted into a complementary portion 2A of the cross member 2. The frame 9 also has a fixing wall 9B extending inwards from its lower edge, and which is screwed onto a corresponding wall 2B of the cross member 2. The peripheral flange 12 delimiting the rectangular window 6 is curved so that it points inwards toward the rigid film 7 and the touch screen 8. A bonding and sealing gasket 20 made of a silicone-type elastomeric material is interposed between this peripheral flange 12 and the peripheral edge of the rigid film 7 over its entire circumference. This seal 20 allows both to fix the peripheral edge of the film 7 over the entire periphery of the window 6, and to ensure excellent water and dust tightness over the entire periphery of the window 6. The seal 20, better visible in Figure 3, has a cross section comprising a first U-shaped portion 21 oriented perpendicularly to the rigid film 7 and surrounding the peripheral flange 12. Its two branches 21A, 21B point to the outer side while its base 21C is interposed between the free end of this peripheral rim 12 and the outer face of the edge of the rigid film 7. The cross section of the seal 20 comprises a second portion 22 also U-shaped but oriented perpendicular to the first portion 21, and which surrounds the edge of the rigid film 7. The two branches 22A, 22B of this second portion 22 extend inwardly and parallel to the plane of the rigid film 7. The first branch 22A, restan t against the outer face of the rigid film 7, merges with the base 21C of the first portion 21; while the second branch 22B is sandwiched between the inner face of the rigid film 7 and the outer face of the touch screen 8. The bonding and sealing gasket 20 is thus compressed over its entire contour between the peripheral rim 12 and the periphery of the touch screen 8, this compression providing a particularly reliable seal and stable over time. In order that water and dust can not penetrate through the dashboard 1 by other accesses, seals 25, 26 and 27 are arranged along the respective contours of the openings 4, 5 and than the entire peripheral edge of this dashboard 1. Thus, even in severe weather or strong winds, no water or sand dust can penetrate the inside of the screen Touch 8 which is perfectly protected.
We will now briefly describe a second embodiment of the dashboard according to the invention in support of Figures 4 and 5. In the following and the drawings, we kept the same references for the same elements in the first mode realization, while similar elements are given a bonus. The dashboard 1 'illustrated in Figure 4 is similar to the dashboard 1 described above except that the hydrophobic film 7' is no longer rigid but flexible, the latter preferably having a thickness between a few nanometers and 200 μm. The use of such a flexible film 7 'has the particular advantage of making compatible the dashboard 1' with touch screens type resistive. On the other hand, the dashboard 1 'comprises, slightly recessed from the peripheral rim 12 of the window 6, a fastening wall 13 extending on the inner side in a direction generally transverse to the flexible film 7'. Unlike the rigid film 7, and as is particularly visible in Figure 5, the peripheral edge of the flexible film 7 'is not attached to the peripheral rim 12 of the window 6, but to the attachment wall 13. More precisely , the first U-shaped portion 21 'of the cross-section of the bonding and sealing joint 20' surrounds the free end of this attachment wall 13 while its second portion 22 'is also U-shaped but oriented perpendicularly to the first portion 21 ', surrounds the peripheral edge of the flexible film 7'. In the absence of external stresses (that is to say before mounting on the cross 2), this flexible film 7 'is slightly distended. Only when mounting the dashboard 1 'on the crossbar 2, the film 7' is tensioned by a force of stress 30 exerted on it by the screen 8, which ensures excellent plating of the film 7 'on the screen 8 (Figure 5). Indeed, because the peripheral edge of the flexible film 7 'is not fixed to the peripheral rim 12 of the opening 6, but to a fastening wall 13 located slightly recessed, the front peripheral edge of the touch screen 8 comes to exercise during assembly, a compressive force against the inner face of the film 7 'along a fold line 14. This stress causes the tension of the flexible film 7' whose main portion contiguous to the screen 8 advances progressively and comes into contact with a second seal 30 surrounding the peripheral rim 12 of the opening 6. According to alternative embodiments not shown, the fixing of the peripheral edge of the film 7 or 7 'on the entire periphery of the window 6 is made by other means, for example by thermo-welding. In such a case, the bonding and sealing gasket 20 or 20 'is absent or replaced by a gasket providing only the seal. Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown, but also encompasses all variants within the scope of those skilled in the art.
