[2] Afin de mettre en valeur le regard, les personnes, et notamment les femmes, ont recourt à la pose de faux-cils. [3] De manière classique, les faux-cils sont constitués de segments de fibres pouvant être naturelles ou synthétiques. Ces segments de fibres sont reliés entre eux par un élément de liaison filaire définissant le bord de pose des faux cils. Les faux-cils sont posés en appliquant des points de colle sur le bord de pose des faux-cils puis en plaçant les faux-cils de manière à disposer la face portant les points de colle du bord de pose au bord de la racine des cils naturels. Afin de fixer les faux-cils, il est procédé à une pression sur le bord de pose de l'extérieur vers l'intérieur de l'oeil. Pour retirer les faux-cils, il convient de procéder au décollement du bord de pose depuis l'extrémité extérieure de ce dernier. [4] Les faux-cils de l'art antérieur présentent cependant un certain nombre d'inconvénients. [5] En particulier, les faux-cils de l'art antérieur sont fixés sur la paupière par l'intermédiaire de l'élément de liaison filaire. Un tel élément est relativement fin. Il offre donc une zone d'adhésion avec la paupière relativement peu importante. Il est donc fréquent que les faux-cils glissent de leur emplacement initial en raison du mouvement de battement des paupières. La durée du port de faux-cils s'avère donc limitée. On enduit ensuite la base inférieure du film d'une couche de colle sur tout ou partie de la longueur du support 2. Les segments de fibres 4 sont ensuite disposés de manière à présenter une de leurs extrémités sur la zone du support 2 revêtue de la couche de colle. Afin d'assurer une fixation suffisante, il sera pris soin d'enduire le film avec la colle sur une hauteur suffisante. Selon une variante de réalisation, il peut être prévu, en remplacement de la colle, de fixer les segments de fibres par couture.
