The present invention relates to a method and installation for thermohydraulic production cogeneration. A hydroelectric development consists of a water intake or reservoir, created by a dam, and an electricity generating station, both of which are connected by a canal or conduit. The power of a development of this type is directly given by its height of fall and its flow. A hydroelectric facility transforms the potential energy between two points of a watercourse into kinetic energy. At the production plant, the water drives a turbine that recovers this energy in mechanical form. The turbine shaft is connected to an alternator that produces electricity. These structures can reach very large dimensions, and require very heavy investments. In addition, these hydroelectric developments are often located in areas remote from the places of use of the electricity produced, which generates additional costs for its transport to users. Thermal power plants, by burning fossil fuels to produce electricity, generate several harmful by-products for the environment, including gases such as sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NO2). They also release Carbon Dioxide (CO2), which is a greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere. In order to overcome these drawbacks, the present invention proposes a method and an installation for generating electricity by means of an alternator driven by the transmission shaft of a turbine, for example of the Pelton type, located in a dedicated enclosure. Said turbine comprises a mobile wheel provided with vanes called "buckets" on its periphery, and one or more fixed injectors that sends (ent) at very high speed water on the buckets. This water is stored in a dedicated tank located upstream of the injector or injectors. It is oriented and introduced into an injector or injectors at low speed and comes out at very high speed. The process according to the invention is characterized in that the transformation of the pressure or the excess pressure generated by the pulsed detonation waves into kinetic energy takes place in the injector or the injectors. Water acting essentially on the wheel of the turbine by its kinetic energy. The speed of the water jet at the outlet of the injector or injectors only depends on the energy of the wave or pulsed detonation waves and the overpressure generated in the compartment (s) and / or the tubes. detonation which is (ent) upstream of the injector or injectors and to which they are attached. The tube or the detonation barrel of adapted and refractory material, comprises a cylindrical explosion chamber delimited by two ends. This explosion chamber may be covered with a refractory material. One end of the explosion chamber is closed, and on the opposite side, the other end is open, and ends in the cylindrical inlet chamber of the water of the injector. The diameter of the inlet chamber of the water is constant over its entire length, and is slightly greater than the detonation tube. If the performance of the installation requires a larger flow of water, the diameter of the inlet chamber of the water may be greater than the diameter of the detonation tube. Said detonation drum has at its closed end, a means for admitting pressurized water vapor, produced in an evaporator, for example by using the electricity produced by the power plant, located downstream of the turbine and the downstream reservoir that recovers the water from the process by gravity flow. The tube has a constant diameter throughout its length. The diameter and length of the detonation tube are calculated according to the performance of the process. Over its length, the tube is provided with the closed side of a co-annular injection system of fuel gas (s) under pressure, such as acetylene, hydrogen, propane or butane for example, and oxidant, such as oxygen or pressurized air. In front of these admissions, the tube also comprises along its length a co-annular controlled ignition device, such as a spark plug, making it possible to produce a spark for detonating the combustible gas mixture (oxidizing / reducing agent) in order to develop a wave of a pulsed detonation which serves to eject the water admitted in a determined quantity into the injector before the detonation. These compression waves produce a jet of water at a very high speed at the outlet of the spout of the injector for rotating the wheel of the turbine which recovers the kinetic energy of the water and converts it into mechanical energy, then into electrical energy by the alternator. This cycle is discontinuous.
In order to produce a continuous stream of water, advantageously, an injector may comprise two water inlet chambers, and be associated with at least two detonation tubes which alternately produce detonations at a determined frequency. Just a moment before the end of a cycle of a detonation tube, a second tube begins a new cycle. The cycles are repeated alternately to produce a continuous stream of water at the outlet of the nozzle of the injector. The purpose of the detonation tube is to initiate and propagate a detonation. The detonation produces a shock wave that propagates towards the open end of the detonation tube, ejecting at several hundred meters per second the water introduced alternately into each of the inlet chambers of the injector water (s). . The object of the detonation tube may also be the thermal dissociation of the combined oxygen and hydrogen atoms in the water molecules of the water vapor produced in situ, and introduced in a predetermined amount into the detonation tube. simultaneously with the detonation, or simply accelerate the molecules of the water vapor. In fact, simultaneously with the propagation at the shock wave, of the detonation towards the open end of the tube, and therefore of the injector, a reflected wave is created inside the tube, and propagates to the rear of the detonation tube, setting the burned gases in motion. These gases reach very high temperatures, of the order of 3000 ° to 4000 ° C. and an overpressure of several MPa. At this temperature and pressure, the dissociation of water molecules in vapor form can take place instantly, releasing hydrogen and oxygen. This gaseous mixture (oxidant / reductant) supplies energy to the combustion process of the detonation allowing to develop downstream of the shock wave of the detonation, multiple pulsed detonation waves that propagate towards the open end of the tube. detonation by generating an overpressure which ejects at a very high speed the water admitted into the injector. The reflected wave finally reaches the closed end of the tube. On its way, it caused a pressure drop in the tube to equalize the internal and external pressures. At the end of this step, the tube can be refilled and a new cycle can begin. In this phase, another detonation tube started its cycle. At the end of this cycle, said gaseous mixture is converted into water vapor without any carbon dioxide (002) emission. Only the use of reactive gases to produce the initial detonation generates CO2 emissions. This carbon dioxide dissolves in water. In order to eliminate it, a lime treatment is provided in the process just after the downstream water recovery tank of the process. Said downstream reservoir comprises means for evacuating the water vapor. After this treatment, a quantity of this water is converted into water vapor in an evaporator using, for example, electricity produced by the plant, while the rest of the water can be cooled, and directed towards the water. storage tank upstream of the water, in which we add fresh water. If, conventionally, in a thermal power plant, the fuel is used to turn the water into steam for rotating a turbine, in the present invention, the fuel is used to produce pulsed detonation waves which are used to eject the turbine. water at high speed. The water, by its kinetic energy, drives the turbine wheel which, by turning, drives the alternator to produce electricity. Advantageously, the cogeneration of energy by cracking the water vapor in the detonation tube contributes to limiting the use of combustible gases by a supply of 40 thermal energy allowing the development of an overpressure in the tube, which will then be , converted into kinetic energy in the injector. Cogeneration has a direct impact on the economics of the process. The overpressure energy developed by the combustion process, the number of detonation tubes, the frequency of the detonation cycles, the number of injectors, the volume of water admitted into the injectors, as well as the dimensions of the turbine and of the alternator determine the power of the power plant. Depending on the desired power, the plant can be equipped with two Pelton type turbines connected in parallel with an alternator located, in this configuration, between the two turbines.
The detonation tube may be provided at its open end with at least one co-annular injection system of compressed air which has the effect of slowing the speed of the shock wave. This control of the speed of the shock wave makes it possible to control the power of the water jet at the outlet of the nozzle of the injector. If you want to develop a powerful jet of water, there will be little injection of compressed air or no compressed air at all, and conversely, if one looks for a jet of water of less power. According to this configuration, this injection can be performed during the initiation of the detonation. The nozzle of the injector may include means for optimizing the water jet. It can be in straight cylindrical form, but it can perfectly come in another form. Given the detonation regime, and the stresses on the walls, the tube and the injector will be designed with materials having important thermomechanical capabilities such as, for example, Inconel, steel or aluminum. The inner surface of the combustion chamber of the detonation tube may comprise a deposit of magnesium oxide in thin layers. It is a refractory material which, by its characteristics, contributes to the cracking of the water vapor introduced into the tube.
The tube may comprise a cooling system. It will be equipped with a command control unit, and the entire installation can be automated. The enclosure in which the turbine and the injectors are located will be a ventilated enclosure, soundproofed and designed to withstand all types of risks, such as fire, explosion, etc. The turbine will be surrounded by a tarpaulin made of sheet steel. intended to protect it, and to recover and evacuate water.
The subject of the present invention is also a cogeneration electric hydraulic power plant for implementing the method described, characterized in that it comprises a soundproof enclosure, and equipped with ventilation and gas evacuation systems and of air, intended to receive at least one Pelton type turbine for example, provided with a movable wheel with blades called "buckets" on its periphery, protected by a sheet steel sheet to recover the injected water at high speed by one or fixed injectors provided with detonation tubes for generating pulsed detonation waves. The water, after having actuated the wheel of the turbine, flows by gravity into a pipe discharging into a downstream tank.
This water can then be treated with lime to remove dissolved CO2. Part of this treated water is directed towards an evaporator to produce steam, while another part can be directed to an exchanger to be cooled, if necessary. This cooled water is then oriented towards the upstream reservoir in which additions of fresh water will be made. Said steam is used to supply the detonation tubes attached to the injectors.
Another enclosure is intended to receive an alternator driven by a horizontal transmission shaft attached to the turbine, allowing the production of electricity.
The installation also includes a storage place for combustible gases. It also includes all the technical means of production, control, management, and safety of this type of installation, as well as command control units. Other features and advantages of the present invention will appear on reading the following description made with reference to the following figures, given by way of non-limiting example: FIG. 1 represents the method according to which the water (1) stored in an upstream reservoir (2) is directed towards an injector or fixed injectors (3). Said injector (3) or injectors (3) is or are attached to at least two detonation tubes (4 and 4 ') in which an oxidizing agent and reducing agent are injected. This combustible gas, in contact with a spark produced in an explosion chamber by a candle, detonates and generates a pulsed detonation wave. The pressure produced by this wave ejects the water (1) introduced into the injector (3) or the injectors (3) in the form of a jet of water (5) at a very high speed. This jet of water is sent to the buckets (6) located at the periphery of the impeller wheel (7). The water (1) actuates (8) the wheel of the turbine (7) which drives, via a horizontal transmission shaft, an alternator producing electricity. The turbine (7) located in a dedicated chamber (9) is surrounded by a sheet steel sheet (10) for protecting the wheel and discharging water (1). This water then flows, by gravity (11), and flows into a downstream reservoir (12) having a means for discharging the water vapor (20). The water (1) is then directed to a dissolved CO2 treatment device (13). Part of this treated water is admitted into an evaporator (14) that can optionally operate with electricity (15) produced by the power plant, while the rest of the water can be cooled in a heat exchanger (15). This cooled water (17) then returns to the upstream reservoir (2) in which additions of fresh water (18) can be made. The water vapor (19) produced in the evaporator (14) is oriented and injected in a predetermined amount into the detonation tube (s) (4 and 4 ') to produce energy. Figure 2 shows an injector attached to the detonation tubes. According to this figure, the injector (3) comprises two cylindrical inlet chambers (21) of the water (1). In these chambers, the water is admitted alternately according to the alternative detonation cycles which take place in the detonation tubes (4 and 4 ') which are upstream of the injector (3) .These tubes comprise a chamber of explosion (22) delimited by two ends. One end (23) is closed, the other end (24) is open, and ends in the water inlet chamber (21) of the injector (3). The detonation tubes are provided on the closed side (23) of a co-annular injection system (25) of combustible gas under pressure, and another co-annular injection system (26) of an oxidant such as air or oxygen. The tubes (4 and 4 ') also comprise a co-annular controlled ignition device (27) such as a spark plug making it possible to produce a spark for detonating the combustible gas mixture (oxidizing / reducing agent) in order to develop, by means of alternating cycles, pulsed detonation waves (28). These compression waves (28) generate an overpressure in the explosion chamber (22) in each of the detonation tubes (4 and 4 ') for continuously producing a jet of water (5) at a very high speed output nozzle nozzle (29) to rotate the impeller wheel (7). Said detonation tubes (4 and 4 ') have at their closed end (23) an inlet means (30) of water vapor (19) which will be cracked in the explosion chamber (22), during the phase of the spread of the detonation. Figure 3 shows a section of the injector and detonation tubes. FIG. 4 is a representation of an injector to which are attached detonation tubes comprising a compressed air injection system (31).
The present invention is not limited to the examples described but encompasses all variants. In particular, an injector may have only one detonation tube, and is connected to another injector also attached to another detonation tube. All these two injectors each having a detonation tube operates alternately. Without departing from the scope of the present invention, the combustible gases exemplified in the description may be liquefied gases. Products or substances other than gases, which may generate an overpressure by detonation, may be used. Similarly, in the description, it is suggested to use the electricity produced by the plant to produce water vapor. Of course, water vapor can be produced by means other than electricity. Advantageously, the present invention makes it possible to produce electricity in a particularly economical and ecological manner. It uses and reuses water which is an available and renewable resource, without polluting it, and fuel in a moderate way. It produces no emissions into the atmosphere of polluting or greenhouse gases, and does not generate toxic byproducts. The other advantage of the present invention is the speed of the start of the production of electricity, and its rise in power. Stops of the installation can also be done instantly. Devices for converting the positive pressure energy into kinetic energy do not have complex mechanical or electronic systems. This reduces the risk of technical breakdowns. This type of installation can be set up near the users of electricity. This is an important saving in transporting this energy to users.
