Description
The invention relates to guidance systems and in particular to guidance systems adapted to be integrated into a motor vehicle.
There are currently many navigation systems and guidance for vehicles including satellite navigation systems, in combination with digital map information stored in memory readable. These navigation systems are provided with a man-machine interface generally comprising a tactile control surface. These man-machine interfaces are used to enable a user (eg a vehicle driver) to: (i) navigate through a menu tree allowing him to browse the functionality of different functions associated with navigation or (ii) select elements on a digital map. Indeed, generally digital maps are embellished with graphic elements indicating points of interest (or FOI for Point Of Interest). These POls are for example hotels, shops, petrol stations or any other place that may interest a user.
A difficulty encountered in navigation systems, especially those with a touch control surface, relates to the accuracy required to select one or more points of interest on a map. This precision is indeed not compatible with a good driving safety of the vehicle which requires that the driver's eyes are the least diverted possible from the road. Document US2009 / 012703 discloses a method for selecting points of interest on a map of a navigation system. This method comprises steps of: (i) selecting in a menu a geometric shape, (ii) positioning the shape on the map and (iii) modifying the shape. One of the drawbacks of this method is that it requires several successive operations to select the points. As a result, it requires sustained attention from a user. The invention therefore aims to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by providing a selection method and an associated navigation system for a simple selection (and therefore compatible with driving) of at least one point of interest on a digital map. To this end, it more specifically proposes a method of selecting points of interest displayed on a map of a navigation system comprising a display means, characterized in that it comprises the steps of: detecting a signal of selection associated with a position on the map, - Display, on the display means, a selection area at said position, - As long as the signal is detected, increase the area of the selection area, - When the support is no longer detected, - Determine points of interest belonging to the selection area, - Display, on the screen, a graphic object comprising, for each point of interest belonging to the selection area, at least one piece of information. associated with said point of interest. The method according to the invention makes it possible, from the display of a digital map on a screen, to select objects and places present on this map. From a position pointed on this map, either directly in a tactile way, or through an external remote control and a virtual pointer, and throughout the duration of the maintenance of this selection, a dynamic and proportional selection zone at the selection time is drawn on the map. Upon release, all the selectable objects (points of interest, special places, streets) located on the map are identified and proposed to the user in the form of a list ordered by distance of distance from the center initially pointed. The user can therefore select the site of his choice to obtain additional information or start a route calculation to this place. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent upon examination of the following detailed description, and the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 illustrates an example of a navigation system according to the invention; ; FIG. 2 illustrates a diagram representing the method according to the invention; Figures 3 to 6 each illustrate an exemplary image that can be displayed with a system according to the invention. The attached drawings may not only serve to complete the invention, but also contribute to its definition, if any. Referring to Figure 1, a navigation system 10 according to 1 o the invention comprises processing means 11 adapted to control a display means 12. The processing means 11 are connected to a storage means 13 comprising data mapping. The processing means 11 are adapted to the execution of the method described later in the description. The processing means 11 which are arranged in particular for determining at least one route originating from the current geographical position of the vehicle and to a destination selected by a user. The navigation system also comprises display means 12, in particular for displaying road map images. The navigation system 10 can also and advantageously furthermore comprise control means arranged, for example, for ordering the display, on the display means, of a given portion of a road map. In the nonlimiting example illustrated in FIG. 1, the display means 12 is a touch screen which also comprises control means making it possible to address commands to the processing means 11. The navigation system 10 also includes Storage means 13 which are part of either an equipment of the navigation aid system 10 or a remote server accessible via a wireless connection.
Any type of storage means known to those skilled in the art can be used including a memory (possibly purely software) or a database. The storage means 13 are used in particular to memorize points of interest, in other words, the data representative of the respective geographical positions of places of interest such as petrol stations, car parks, restaurants or hotels. In the nonlimiting example illustrated, the navigation system is an independent equipment, possibly GPS (satellite navigation - or similar) and possibly portable type, or a mobile phone type "smartphone". But, in variants (not shown), the navigation system could be fixedly implanted in the vehicle and be part of a vehicle computer. The navigation system could also be partly external to the vehicle and partly installed (permanently or temporarily) in the vehicle. Indeed, it can be envisaged that the calculations and processing of information and data are performed outside the vehicle, for example in a remote server dedicated for this purpose, acting centrally and accessible via a wireless connection, and that these information and data are collected and provided by the portion of the system installed in a vehicle. Therefore, the navigation system can be realized in the form of a combination of electronic circuits and software (or computer) modules, or software modules, or electronic circuits. The invention also relates to a method of selecting points of interest displayed on a map of a navigation system 10 comprising a display means for example a touch screen or not. The method includes a step 21 for detecting a selection signal associated with a position on the map. This signal can be generated by the user simply by pointing a position on the map displayed on a touch screen. The signal can also be generated through an external remote control, for example a touchpad (or touchpad) or a trackball (or trackball) and a virtual pointer. The signal is transmitted to the processing means 11 and then detected by the latter 11. The method comprises, in response to the reception signal, a display step 22, on the display means 12, of a signaling zone. selection 32 at said position. During this step, the processing means 11 control the display, at the position indicated in the signal, of a selection zone 32. The size of the displayed selection zone 32 can be reduced to the point selected by the selection zone. 'user. The method also includes, as long as the select signal is detected, increasing the area of the selection area. As long as the processing means 11 receive the selection signal, these 11 determine an increasingly large area of selection area 32 and control its display on the display means 12. According to a first variant embodiment of FIG. the invention, the area of the selection area 32 increases continuously as a function of the reception time of the selection signal. According to a second variant embodiment of the invention, the area of the selection zone 32 increases at a regular time interval. Otherwise the size of the area does not increase for a given duration (eg 1 second) and then a larger area is displayed (for example a circle whose radius has increased by 0.5 centimeters). The method also includes, when the support is no longer detected by the processing means 11, the determination 24 by the processing means 11 of the points of interest belonging to the selection zone 32. interests included in the perimeter of the surface 32. The method finally comprises the display 25, on the display means 12, of a graphic object 61 comprising, for each point of interest 62 belonging to the selection zone 32, at least one information associated with said point of interest. The method may also include a route calculation step from or to a selected point in the graphical object. According to an advantageous embodiment, the selection zone 32 is a circle whose center is the position associated with the selection signal. This has the advantage of selecting POls having a maximum distance (the radius of the circle) with the selected position. The selection then acts as a distance filter with respect to a selected position. Any other form, preferably regular, ovoid or not, for example an oval, a square or a diamond may be suitable for the area of selection.
Three nonlimiting examples of images that can be displayed on the touch screen 12 are schematically represented in FIGS. 3 to 6. In the example of FIG. 3, the screen 12 displays a portion of a road map and points of view. 'interests. The screen also displays a selection area 32 around a point designated by a user's finger.
In the example of FIG. 4, the screen displays the same portion of the road map as that of FIG. 3 with the same points of interest 31 but with a selection zone 32 having a radius greater than that of FIG. 3. In the example of FIG. 5, the screen displays the same portion of the road map as that of FIG. 4 with the same points of interest 31 but with a selection zone 32 having a radius greater than that of Figure 4. Figure 6 shows the behavior of the navigation system following the stop of the selection by the user. In the example of FIG. 6, the screen displays the same portion of the road map as that of FIG. 5 with the same points of interest 31 and the same selection zone 32. The screen 12 also displays a graphic object 61. This graphic object 61 includes a list of points of interest that can be selected by a user. The points of interest of the list are those 62 belonging to the zone of selection 32. For each point of interest the list includes at least one information associated with the point of interest, such as a name of place, an address or a phone number. Advantageously, the points of interest of the list are ordered in order of increasing distance from the selected position. In the example, the graphic object 61 also includes street names corresponding to the position selected by the user.
