L'invention concerne un procédé d'évaluation de l'indice de capabilité Cpk d'une machine et/ou d'un procédé, comportant les étapes consistant à : - obtenir (10) des caractéristiques x représentatives de pièces ou d'éléments issus de la machine et/ou du procédé, - rechercher (11) une loi de Pearson représentative de la distribution des caractéristiques x, - calculer (12) le coefficient de capabilité Cpk de la machine et/ou du procédé, à partir de la loi de distribution de Pearson ainsi onsidérée.
