Description

The present invention relates to a traction force limiter on a belt for fastening an object to a structure comprising a deformable element 5. More particularly, the invention relates to the anchoring of a belt called "top tether" of a child restraint device (DRE) installed in a motor vehicle to act as a force limiter. US patent application US 2011/0193394 A1 discloses a system for anchoring a child restraint in a motor vehicle. This system comprises in its lower part a fixation called isofix "registered trademark", that is to say a fastening belt connected to the child seat snapped into a buckle of a seat belt which is close to the seat. seat of the seat or the back seat of a vehicle. The upper part of the child restraint is connected to another belt, called "top tether", which connects the child seat to an element of the structure of the vehicle interior. The document cited above describes a child seat in front of the road with three rigid attachment points on the seat of the vehicle. 25 The EuroNCAP standard for the protection of children in category two of the vehicles stipulates that in the event of an accident with a frontal collision, the excursion of the head of a child must not exceed 550 mm. The car manufacturers make the most rigid isofix and top tether bindings possible to optimize the coupling of the child restraint on the tier two seat and to limit as much as possible the excursion of the child's head. In return, the child undergoes all the deceleration of the vehicle during the shock. To remedy this last drawback, it has been proposed to make 5 mobile under a given effort the belt top tether generally located on the seat back of rank two. This programmed movement of the belt top tether can act as a force limiter. Thus, patent GB 2 444 592 B discloses a top tether belt which is fastened to an element of the structure of the vehicle interior by means of a plastically deformable element. This deformable element is connected to the vehicle structure and comprises an anchoring element with a metal shackle with a free end coupled to the top tether. The shackle is U-shaped so that if tensile force is applied to the top tether belt, the shackle is plastically deformed thereby absorbing energy. This deformation is not controllable and can lead to tearing or rupture of the shackle in case of a sudden shock. It is the object of the present invention to provide a traction force limiter on a belt and in particular on a so-called "top tether" belt of a child restraint device of a motor vehicle which makes it possible to absorb the energy of a frontal impact partially to avoid that the deceleration of the head of a child sitting in the DRE is punctually too important. This energy absorption must be adjustable to create an optimal deceleration profile. For this purpose, it is the object of the present invention to provide a traction force limiter on an attachment belt of an object to a structure comprising a deformable element, a wedge will enter the deformable element when the pulling force on the belt will exceed a certain threshold. According to one embodiment of the invention, the wedge is arranged on one end of the belt and the deformable element is fixed on the structure. Advantageously, the deformable element has a slit narrower than the maximum width of the wedge which is pressed into the slot during the pull on the belt. According to a preferred embodiment, the deformable element comprises a tube with at least one slot disposed parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube in which the wedge will penetrate. Advantageously, the tube comprises a second slot through which the belt is guided. The present invention aims to use the traction force limiter for anchoring a "top tether" of a child restraint for a motor vehicle. In this case, the belt is a "top tether" and the object to be fixed is a child seat in position facing the road. Preferably, the structure is the back of a seat or bench of a motor vehicle and the deformable element is fixed on this folder. Advantageously, the penetration of the wedge into the slot allows an extension of the belt of the order of magnitude of a few centimeters. Advantageously, the tube is made of metal, preferably aluminum or copper or an alloy of these two metals.

La fixation est effectuée 30 dans la partie effilée du coin 4.Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge clearly from the description which is given below, by way of indication and in no way limiting, with reference to the appended figures, among which: FIG. 1 is a side view of a child seat fixed to the rear seat of a vehicle with a traction force limiter on a top tether according to the invention, and 2 is a schematic cross section of an embodiment of a traction force limiter according to the invention. Fig. 1 shows a side view of a child seat 8 installed in the rear seat of a motor vehicle. The child seat of the road facing type is fixed on the one hand with a system called isofix 9 which includes a belt in the lower rear part of the child seat which is snapped into a seatbelt buckle. On the other hand, the upper part of the child seat 8 comprises a belt 2 called top tether which passes in the example presented above the back of the back seat. The top tether is anchored to the rear face of the seat by means of a deformable element 3 which forms part of the traction force limiter 1 on the top tether according to the invention. It is also possible to anchor the top tether on other elements 25 of the structure of the interior of the vehicle such as on the bottom or on the rear face of the vehicle compartment. The force limiter 1 according to the invention comprises a wedge 4 which is fixed on the free end of the belt 2 of the top tether. Fixing is performed in the tapered portion of the corner 4.

The deformable element 3 comprises a tube with two longitudinal slots, one facing the other and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube. The belt 2 of the top tether is guided through these two slots 6 and 7. The tube is connected to the rear face of the seat back by means of the support legs (not shown). In the event of a frontal impact to the vehicle during an accident, a traction force is applied to the top tether belt. This pulling force makes the wedge 4 enter the slot 6. If a certain force threshold is exceeded, the wedge 4 exerts a deformation force on the slot 6 by widening it. The tube then undergoes a plastic deformation, as shown in FIG. 2 by widening the slot 6. The wedge 4 then penetrates deeper into the widened slot 6 which extends the belt 2. Thus, the deceleration of the upper part of the child seat 8 is distributed over time. Thus, the deceleration pulse is attenuated which limits the force exerted on the head of a child sitting in the child seat 8. The lengthening of the belt 2 top tether can be of the order of magnitude of 1 to several centimeters.

Toutefois l'invention peut s'appliquer à tout élément déformable se présentant sous la forme d'un caisson, d'une plaque épaisse etc.25In the example described the deformable element is in the form of a tube in which a wedge will penetrate when exceeding the tensile force exerted by the belt. However, the invention can be applied to any deformable element in the form of a box, a thick plate etc.25.
