Abstract
The invention relates to an on-board electrical system (1), in particular for a motor vehicle, having at least two sub-systems (10, 20), of which one first sub-system (10) is designed to be operated at a first d.c. voltage and a second sub-system (20) is designed to be operated at a second d.c. voltage. The first and second d.c. voltages have different nominal voltage values, and the first sub-system (10) and the second sub-system (20) are connected to each other by means of a d.c. converter (30), which is designed to be operated at least in a first operating mode, in which said converter converts the first d.c. voltage into the second d.c. voltage and/or converts the second d.c. voltage into the first d.c. voltage, and in a second operating mode, in which said converter forms a direct electrical connection between the first sub-system (10) and the second sub-system (20).
